This is a great beach to learn how to surf or ride the waves on the boogie boards provided. San Diego Surf School gives surf lessons right outside your door. If surfing isn't your thing, there is plenty of sand for you to lay out and get tan. This property has great outdoor space to BBQ and enjoy the southern California sun. Also included in this rental, a small garage for parking, boogie boards, beach chairs, sand toys, cooler and wagon. Garage dimensions are 93 inches wide, 15.5 feet long, 83 inches tall. In addition to the beach being just steps away, the boardwalk starts at Law St. and takes you 3 miles along the coastline through Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. You can enjoy the view of the homes along the water or stop and do some shopping or eating at one of the many places along the way. Make your way to Belmont Park and ride the roller coaster, or practice catching some waves on the artificial waves at Wavehouse Restaurant and Bar. If you don't want to try it, watch others while you eat some food and enjoy some nice cold beverages. Just 3 miles north is downtown La Jolla where you can kayak in the caves in La Jolla Shores, or check out the seals off Coast Blvd. Seaworld is just minutes away. Head just a few miles south and check out Old Town or just a couple more miles you can explore downtown San Diego. There is a plethora of nightlife, shopping, dining choices and so much more. Attractions in both San Diego and neighboring La Jolla are easily accessible from this Dolphin beach Walk getaway! As you walk through the gate and up some stairs, there is a large, shared patio area with some tables and chairs as well as 1 BBQ for you to enjoy during your stay. The Dolphin is the first condo right off the patio with the large windows to bring in lots of light. When you enter, you walk into the living room that feels nice and bright with all the windows. There is a leather sofa, matching armchair and a large" flat screen TV. The living room in open to the kitchen which is fully stocked with everything you need to cook any meal. If you want to eat your food inside, there is a small dining table for two, and/or bar stools you can use to sit at the breakfast bar. Don't forget, you can take your food outside and enjoy the Southern California weather at the patio tables and chairs. If it's too sunny, the umbrellas can provide you with the necessary shade. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, built-in microwave, and a small dishwasher (many other small appliances) so you don't have to waste any time doing dishes. Each bedroom has 1 queen bed, perfect for two couples or a small family. The bedrooms are very similar in size however, one of them has a small TV. A cozy bathroom with granite countertop, and tub/shower combo providing you with just enough space to wash up. No smoking is allowed inside any of our properties. This house (like most in the area) does not have air conditioning. Important: Before you arrive, you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Short walk and you are on the boardwalk and heading down the ramp to the beach. So nice with young kids where you are always walking back for something. My wife preferred the next door unit since it had the two beds in one room but we just used the blow up mattress and it worked great.I also love that it is at the end of the boardwalk so it isn't as crazy as other spots, once again nice for the kids. It is really meant for just two people, maybe two with a baby (in my opinion). The bathroom is really small and needs some updating as well as the heater as it makes a loud bang occasionally when the metal expands (old heater) but works just fine. Near the beach and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The cottage had everything we needed. The space was occasionally cold - the furnace didn’t always kick in when set. Super clean, very comfortable beds and couch, adorable kitchen. All the appliances and plumbing worked great. Nice ceiling fans. Great outdoor patios. Barbecue if we wanted one. The place was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all the necessities, and the patio with view of the ocean was an extra treat! My husband and I ended up ordering take-out dinner from some very good restaurants and ate dinner on the patio while watching the sun set. The garage was tight, but my husband parked our Subaru Outback in there without a hitch. We will definitely seek out The Dolphin again if we return to San Diego and would recommend it to anyone. ##### Deborah R. Accommodated a wonderful Mother/Daughter time together. Good neighborhood for safety. Everything we needed and 3 doors down from the beach and sunsets. Will probably stay again. Communication was very nice. I mostly parked on the street along with all the surfers but had no problems. Could make some San Diego information available for future folks. We could watch the sunset over the ocean from the front patio. As lovely as the location was, the apartment/condo was nice but it could use some updating. It is literally one minute from the beach. You can see the ocean if you sit on the couch or outside. A few suggestions: 1\. The kitchen is sparsely equipped. I would recommend adding a few salad bowls, oven pans, and pots/pans. 2\. Please include a binder with things to do/visit within the unit. It was not obvious that the "village" was next to the beach, in the opposite direction from Mission Blvd. 3\. This rental unit traps heat. Even though it cools down if all windows and doors are open, and if all the fans are on, that is not possible at night, when we have to close all the doors. 4\. While the property manager was responsive, she did not seem to jump when we reported that the on-property dryer was out of service. I understand that she called a repair person, but we were not informed of that. The dryer is clearly old and in need of replacement. In addition, while the washing machine was new (I was told), it looked like a very old model and did not function properly. When we requested additional towels, the property manager instructed us to get them from the unit next door, which was fine, but we had to contact her multiple times. ##### adele G.
