Bedroom 2 (queen bedroom) has french doors that open out but we would not consider this as a private entry as you can only lock the door from the inside. Guest Access: The entire home is yours including the exclusive use of the outdoor patio adjoining the home (note, however, there is a separate guest house with its own space adjoining the backyard at the rear of the property; while the guest house is adjacent to the backyard it has its own separate parking and outdoor space...While the 2 are connected the spaces are in no way shared (other than the common area washer/dryer in the courtyard)). You may also rent the entire property and host up to 8 guests across 2 separate spaces, please contact us if you are interested. The Neighborhood: OB is the hippest and most "neighborly" of San Diego's beach communities. There is nothing quite like the non-corporate lifestyle of Ocean Beach. The locals here love OB for its eclectic community that supports a range of wonderful small shops, restaurants, bars and coffee houses. You will find some of the best food, drink and shopping in the local area. Very walkable and close to the beach. All of OB is accessible on foot from this location. So enjoy and take it all in! Getting Around: Rental bikes and scooters are plentiful for rent by the hour/day/week. Uber/Lyft are very active in San Diego and the assigned parking guarantees that you will always have parking should you venture out into greater San Diego. Other Things to Note: This is a family oriented neighborhood and good neighborly behavior is desired so we can keep thriving in this wonderful beach town. For stays longer than 30 days, I require a deposit in the amount of one month's rent to be paid offline due 60 days prior to arrival as well as a formal lease agreement. This property is pet friendly, though we don't allow cats here. There is a $150.00 pet fee applied after booking, please let us know if you will be bringing you pet. If you have any questions please ask! Beach Equipment: despite the inclusion of snorkeling gear, we do not offer it at our rentals Interaction with Guests: Check in is completely contactless. You will receive a text with a link with all the details you need for checking in, house details, and departure info. Quelques petites rénovations seraient nécessaires pour en faire un endroit parfait. Le stationnement réservé derrière est un gros atout. Les chambres sont une derrière les autres de telles sorte qu'il faut passer par l'extérieur ou en traversant les autres chambres pour sortir de celle la plus à l'arrière. Loin d'être un gros problème, il suffit de savoir. Le propriétaire est hyper organisé et les communications, tout comme l'accès à la propriété le premier jour sont clairs et précis. The layout of the house is a little funky. The back rooms have to walk through the primary room to get to the living room and kitchen or you have to walk around outside. Not a big deal, just a little different. The sound from the planes taking off from the airport is pretty loud and the main road is very close so you can hear the traffic from that. Any expectations we had were blown out of the water and exceeded before we even arrived! Our host, Aaron, was professional, friendly, and quick to reply to any messages and/or questions through the app. He made sure to provide us with detailed information about our stay, from check-in and parking to a/c controls and wifi, making the whole process stress-free and easy. The property itself was spotless, beautifully decorated with a relaxing, modern coastal motif, and well stocked with everything we never knew we needed, from kitchen gadgets to make-up wipes and tin foil. It had plenty of room for the 4 adults and 2 children in our party, without feeling like we were on top of each other. The outside spaces were cozy, spacious, and perfect for outdoor family meals or a relaxing cup of coffee. We could have happily spent our entire trip just hanging out at the property, but the location is the best part! It's a 2 minute walk to Ocean Beach, where there's plenty of sand, surf, and shells. It's within walking distance to the year-round Ocean Beach farmer's market and trendy shops of the area. Mission Beach Boardwalk and the arcade, rollercoaster, and rides at Belmont park are just a quick 5 minute drive away. Even the downtown area is only about a 15 minute drive away. It was such a perfect situation where we never felt over cramped and everyone had the right amount of togetherness and privacy as needed. Dog beach is a minute walk away and it was wonderful to wake up early and take the dog to the beach to play in the ocean, especially because he has only ever known the deserts of the Southwest. Magical.We also couldn't stop talking about how all the kitchen appliances were well maintained and well appointed, which almost never happens with vacation rentals. The location is the best part. We were able to walk almost everywhere. I am giving the property 4.5 stars because I think a few upgrades, would make the property a 5 star. It is advertised as air conditioned. Two of the bedrooms have ac, but the living room does not. The living room was the hottest place in the house because of the afternoon sun. One of the AC units broke the first day we were there, even though they had a repair person there working on it as we arrived. It flooded the bedroon. They got someone out 2 days later to replace it. Mini splits would be a huge improvement. Also a little updating would not hurt. As much as we wanted to let the fresh air in, the curtains were cheap, and almost impossible to move, blocking the fresh air when we opened the windows. Some of the kitchen drawers were falling out, and there was peeling paint around the house. A dishwasher would be nice as well. We loved the front porch, and sat out there daily enjoying the ocean breeze. I would stay again, but would also seek out other properties in the same price range first. ##### Mary W. The house was well equipped, clean, as advertised, and communication was easy. We would love to stay again. The master bedroom was spacious, the other 2 bedrooms were smaller. The beds were comfortable and we used the a/c units in the bedrooms and the living room fan. We walked to the dog beach, people beach and to wonderful restaurants and drove once to Cabrillo National Monument. The 2 bathrooms were appreciated and so were the ample towels. We brought our own beach towels. Having the outside shower was great. The tandem parking in the rear was greatly appreciated. Access to the house was communicated well and easy. ##### Denise C. The kitchen was well equipped with all the dishes, pots, & pans we needed. The BBQ grill was nice to have...we enjoyed dinner outdoors. The front patio was perfect for our family and pups to hang out too. The beach was so close you could smell, hear, & see it from the front door. The beds were comfy. We were able to walk to most places, including so many coffee shop options, restaurants & shopping. Parking for 2 vehicles was great but also had no issues parking a 3rd vehicle on the street (just be careful on Wednesday- no parking 7a-10a). Ocean Beach and Dog Beach are next to each other which was great for those of our group that didn't have dogs and perfect for the two of us who brought our pups along. The pier is closed right now for repairs but didn't stop us from enjoying the beaches and shopping. I was able to wash a load of laundry in the washer/dryer on the patio. The rooms are connected but easy enough to navigate with multiple access points. Water stayed nice and warm for all of us & there was plenty of towels (no beach towels). They had beach gear available for us to use...it was great having beach chairs! We took a few short drives to catch some other views, it was great to have a comfy spot to come back to. We opened the windows and it cooled the house down fast! It is a little older but was very clean. We called once to get help with the ac hose and they were prompt & professional. ##### Gizele R. Abbotts market is a 1 minute walk and all the restaurants and shops on Newport are a 10 minute walk. We usually stay closer to the pier but we booked on Brighton and I’m so glad we did. It’s a quieter more family friendly area. The house has a parking space you can’t beat that! Really appreciate the little touches like beach gear and beach toys. Water pressure is great for the showers and the outdoor shower has hot water which was really nice after taking a dip in that cold ocean water. Honestly I would highly recommend this cottage for families or a small group. The only complaint I have is I wish the floors under the beds and couch area had been a bit cleaner. But to give the benefit of the doubt this is pet friendly cottage and we may have come at an odd time because all the previous reviews had stated how sparkling clean the cottage was for them. ##### Nicole P. There were so many shops and restaurants within walking distance that we rarely ended up using our rental car! Aaron and his team were so helpful and responsive when we had a couple issues pop up during our stay! We even were running a little behind on the day we checked out and he worked with us and was super forgiving!
