The host was very slow to reply. She requested the names of the guests staying in the house, and I provided her with five names. I had mentioned that we were visiting my stepdaughter who lives in San Diego just for the day. After enjoying some time at the beach, my stepdaughter and her boyfriend briefly stopped by so that we could freshen up before heading out to dinner. Immediately after we entered the property the host called us to ask about the presence of seven people in the property. We explained that they were just waiting for us, but she expressed discomfort with us having visitors. They were only there for less than 20 minutes before dinner. I immediately realized that she was watching us. We felt that our privacy was compromised and that we were being monitored through cameras. We had been at the property for less than 30 minutes and decided to leave because of our discomfort and feeling of being watched. We headed straight to a Hilton hotel where we felt safe and welcomed. I’ve never felt so discriminated as much as we did the day we visited this property. The way the host spoke to us, belittling me. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. We would like to file a formal complaint. Furthermore, the apartment was very enclosed, not clean, and had an unpleasant odor. We did not feel safe, and I was particularly disturbed by the fact that she was observing us via cameras without our consent or disclosing she would watch us via a camera. We really felt very uncomfortable.
