This was a wonderful and perfect hotel. First and foremost, all of the staff were super friendly, pleasant, and helpful. I felt very welcome at the hotel. Front desk staff, operator, the staff just outside the hotel (they might have been valet drivers), other staff members were so friendly, kind, pleasant, and eager to help in any way! The hotel room was excellent in that it was spacious with a kitchenette (full refrigerator and freezer, stove, sink with complimentary dish rags and dishwater, microwave), very comfortable bed, a dining table for 2 in the kitchenette area, great shower, …. I was in San Diego for a convention. I always felt safe. The streets were easy to walk down (no hills in the area) and there were tons of restaurants, shops, convenience stores (2 CVS stores), and other tourists walking around. There were occasional homeless people and mentally ill people as well, but I was not phased by that since I’m from a big city and know how to use street smarts to get around. I was sad to go because I had such a terrific time on this trip, but next time there’s a convention in San Diego, I’ll definitely stay at the Residence Inn Marriott Gaslamp District.
