The staff was great but he hotel is dated. I hate that Expedia will not let me skip this part. It makes me want to not do reviews. I don't have time to write something ever time they want to know my opinion.

"Wonderful"
We had a wonderful night at the Del. The staff is terrific. Our room was surprisingly modern. You should know though, that this is a very old building, and the walls are thin. If there is a function in the courtyard, the staff will be tearing down tables at all hours of the night. So, just bring good earplugs and a sleep mask as well. Also be aware that not all room are in the old original building. I apparently made my reservation for a room in one of the other buildings because I didn’t know to check. Luckily, we were able to change rooms and it all worked out. We’ve been wanting to stay at the Del for a very long time, and we weren’t disappointed.

Hotel was a great location for our family that lives in North County SD. The Decoy restaurant on site was inviting and had a good breakfast. The staff was so friendly, especially Nick who helped to take care of our family arrangements. The pool area was big and the fire pits was a nice touch in the cool weather. Definitely will recommend to others in the area. A hidden getaway in San Marcos!

"The hotel is a nice hotel and has a good breakfast"
My son and I were happy with out stay. The room appeared clean and had a balcony. The microwave area is a bit small for any real food prep, however fridge was good and functioning well. It is important to note you must bring any food prep items the fridge and microwave are it!! The beds were comfortable and even though they did not have bed bug covers (which all hotels should!!) they were easy to check and appeared good. The shuttle was excellent for lego land. Wanted to get to the beach (beach is a little ways!!) however our time of year made it difficult as the shuttle needs to focus on lego land pick ups (so if you want to see the beach go on a day you do not go to lego land lol). Swimming pool and hot tub were good and they had towels at the pool site. Laundry was available, however need to check if someone left any tissue. Recked a few items do to this, checked our pockets but must have missed something in washer. Staff were nice, one gal is a bit !! unaccomodating, however overall was very happy when I dealt with anyone else. I will stay at this hotel again. Ps the King fisher place next door is a NO. I had signs of significant food problems after eating a very yucky fish and chips which were very expensive and let the place no, however they did not even contact me back!! The pizza place across was excellent and reasonable. Ps Breakfast was great english muffins with sausage and eggs, yogurt, lots more.. I

"Weekend getaway with my kids and parents"
First time at this hotel and it is very nice and modern. The rooms are comfortable. My only issue is long wait for the buffet (over 45 min) and because kids are not allowed on casino floor we couldn't have breakfast at the Cafe and their nowhere else to eat at the casino unless you got pastries at coffee bar. They wouldn't let us pass through to go to cafe and our kids are teenagers. Whoever designed it, didn't plan well. They said they are expanding it next year so hopefully they will do a better job then. It's not very "family-friendly" thus far. Since pool was closed, not much for kids to do unless you go bowling across the street or shopping. I would suggest that adults come here only

"Conveniently located hotel with great staff"
I enjoyed by stay at the Westgate. I had a corner room with an amazing view of Horton Plaza and the skyline and all of the staff were very pleasant and friendly throughout the week. The room is a little older and furniture was a little shabby, but overall nothing overly noticeable and the beds were really comfy. The hotel is in a great location too! I was able to walk pretty much everywhere. I would stay here again!
