We have stayed there many time. When we arrived to the valet there was no service with 3 workers at the check in stand. The room wasn't ready until after 5pm. I called and prepaid to have champagne and chocolate strawberries in the room for my husbands birthday and they were not there. They finally brought them to the room with only one glass for the champagne. Overall not impressed with the service at all, it was disappointing.

Very good location, close to 5th Street (shops, restaurants, bar). Hotel has some construction going on, so hotel restaurant is closed for now. Parking (valet) was a bit expensive but expected in the area. What I did not like was the DAILY MANDATORY CITY FEE, which sounds like a scam after you already paid over $300 for a room. Just include it in the room price, no reason to surprise you when you arrive.

This particular hotel in downtown gaslamp San Diego, were renovating the hotel and they did not state that upon arrival. Loud construction. Had to pay for parking ($55) which I feel should have been free as a courtesy because of the LOUD renovation construction. It was that or pay for a meter with street parking. Never have I had to pay for parking when I’ve stayed at any hotel even Hilton’s! They charge resort fees but they are not a resort. Smh I was so confused. When I asked why was my card charged for it the receptionist stated that it’s for “amenities.” Their gym was inoperable and we were told to go to the “Hardrock hotel” to access their gym and to just show our key card when we get there! I will never go back. Horrible experience
