Heart of Ocean Beach! It's a little bit funky, it's a little bit retro, and it's ALL beachy fun! Located in the heart of one of San Diego's most famous beach communities and within walking distance to the ocean and to the heart of the Ocean Beach community, our place offers everything you might need to rest, rejuvenate and have some fun in San Diego! Not only are we right down the street from shopping, restaurants and entertainment, but we are mere minutes from San Diego's best beaches, including Pacific Beach, La Jolla and Del Mar. Sea World is right around the corner, Balboa Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away, and the Gaslamp District is about 10 minutes down Interstate 5\. Let's just say we're about 10 minutes from almost any place you might want to visit in our amazing city, as well as the San Diego International Airport! This home is a tastefully designed one-bedroom with a full kitchen that can sleep four. Our beach cottage features a queen-sized bed, along with a very comfortable sofa sleeper. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and amenities include free parking, free Wi-Fi, and Apple TV. Guest Access You will have access to the entire bungalow and all amenities, including the front yard outdoor space and, of course, sunny San Diego! If you’re looking for a laid back beach to hang out like a local, look no further than Ocean Beach. This small beach town is a favorite among locals who spend their days surfing, sun bathing around the pier, hanging out and strolling through the many surf shops, taco stands and antique malls. Ocean Beach offers the pitch perfect throw-back groovy vibe of vintage SoCal, coupled with friendly locals, great dining, and a vibrant night life scene. Nestled between the San Diego River and the hills of Point Loma, Ocean Beach is perfect for surfers to enjoy the waves created by jetties. The beach is super friendly for swimmers and sun bathers! Getting around A rental car is strongly recommended! Otherwise, Uber, Lyft and taxicabs are the best bets, but mediocre SoCal public transportation is also available. ;) Photos were taken in 2015\. Please expect normal wear and tear over that time period. Close enough to beach to walk to, grocery store and friendly restaurants around the corner also within walking distance. Bed was comfy and clean. Plenty of pillows. It beat renting a hotel for sure since I enjoy being able to cook my own food. There was a hose around the back to use to clean off sand from the beach which was also a plus. The only things I didn't like was the apple TV device as I think it'd be better if their was a Roku or Fire TV since there are more app options with these and most of the things I already pay for at home were not available via the AppleTV. 2 lamps by the bed also were not plugged in as there wasnt a close enough outlet so I'd recommend bringing your own extension cord for things like plugging those in or your phone to rest in the bedside table. Luckily I had my own PC with me to play D&D with my group on the Saturday I was there and I was able to use it it with the TV instead but since that PC didn't have a wifi card I had to use my phone for Internet connection. That allowed us to be able to watch things we actually wanted to in the living room while playing board games as a family. ##### Andrew F. I had minimal contact with Drew, but when I did reach out via Vrbo, he promptly responded!I also liked that there were plenty of towels!Cons - the property looked a little worse-for-wear when compared to online photos.The neighbors across the way bickered loudly, and with their door open, nearly every night. I used to live in O.B. and I'd say that this bungalow gives the full O.B. experience. All in all, it was a place to sleep, far enough from the noise of Newport, but a close enough walk to the beach. Very central to most of typical SD attractions if you have to drive places.- Cute neighborhood, feels safe to stay here. - Designated free parking spot.- Comfy bed and comfy pull out sofa.Needs improvement: - delivery on promises from the host: registered 2 grown ups and 1 teen, bedding was available for only 2 people upon check in. Was told that the cleaners will drop off extra bedding asap, and never heard back again. Not sure what happened, but no one stopped by. We made it work with the available bedding, but this is not ideal.- Replace bath towels (old and with bleach stains) - Replace frying pans (food sticks on)- Larger shower curtain is needed- it’s short for the current tub - Lawn furniture would be nice Negatives:- No AC - yes, I know that AC isn’t listed as an amenity, but it is very much needed - bungalow heats up very quickly and it took couple hrs to cool it down from 89F to 76F. Very dirty fans available to move the air. Absolutely don’t recommend using oven to cook because of that. - Bare minimum of plates and cups. - Noise (neighbors were arguing all nights into early morning ,airplanes, cars) since you be sleeping with the windows open due to no AC.- Only 2 chairs in the kitchen at the table- if you market this unit for up to 4 people, make sure 4 people can sit down and eat. ##### Dasha G. We absolutely loved our stay in this bungalow. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Our daughter slept great on the pullout couch and there was plenty of space for all of us. The location is exceptional. The main street had many fantastic, unique shops, and restaurants. And it is just minutes to a beautiful beach. We will definitely be back! ##### jessica b. Five minute walk to eateries. Very close to lots of places such as Old Town and SDSU. Sunset cliffs were gorgeous. Lots of amenities in the place. Extra sheets and towels. Coffee maker was appreciated. Only suggestion is to bring earplugs as walls are thin and we did hear guests in adjacent unit. Owners were very responsive to questions. ##### Alyssa S. There were no sheets for the pull out couch. We needed to use the fans, but not all of them worked and they were very dirty. I needed to dust and clean them before using them. I did not stay any nights at this property. I spent approximately 2 hours in the property. I paid for 5 nights in advance based on the description of the property. I ended up paying to stay at a hotel (additional $1500.00). It was my first visit to San DIego. The outside of the property appeared neglected and run down, as were the neighboring houses. The storm door was completely rusted over. There were multiple units facing each other (not facing the road). Upon entering the residence, it was very hot. The temperature reading on the thermostat was 94 degrees. The inside of the property was clean and as presented in the pictures, except much darker. I opened the windows and turned on a couple of fans. It remained very hot. I did not feel comfortable leaving the windows open through the night as they were all low and easily accessible by anyone. I did not feel safe. I did not feel comfortable. I notified the owner of the property and explained my situation. He did not respond for several hours but offered no remedies or solutions. I responded to the owner with greater explanation. He never responded. I have stayed at many VRBO properties over the past ten years. This was my worst experience with a property and the owner. ##### Tammy C.
