This home features both modern and vintage charm, boasting sleek wooden flooring, open-plan living, and a full chef's kitchen. A 6 ft privacy fence allows for the perfect oasis and is perfect for kids and dogs running amok. My home is located in the heart of San Diego, just North of Balboa Park in an area called North Park. I am within walking distance to bars, craft breweries, restaurants, and shopping. The beach and downtown are just a short 10-minute drive away. The house itself was fully remodeled in 2012, yet kept some of the characteristics of the period when it was built. The walls are rounded in the living room of this 1935 Craftsman home. Outside the home There is a large private yard, Caldera Hot Tub, and great outdoor space, complete with a BBQ grill and patio table that seats 6 for dining outdoors or a comfortable outdoor sofa bed perfect for lounging around in the afternoon after a full day of exploring. Inside the home The kitchen is full of light, central to all activity throughout the house, offering an enjoyable cooking experience. The kitchen is well-equipped with all of the tools you'll need to create a delicious meal and there are even four comfortable counter stools at the breakfast bar where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee. The kitchen opens up to the living room, where you will see a dining set, adjustable to either table or counter height, that seats four. Pull over a couple of counter stools for a rousing card game or plop down on the newly added sofa (sleeper) and set-up a movie night with the 42" mounted Roku TV with DVD player and surround sound system! Choose a great flick from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, or the selection of DVD's, and whatever you do, don't forget the popcorn! Bedroom 1 is located just around the corner from the living room. It features a queen-size bed, a ceiling fan, a spacious walk-in closet, dresser, night-stand, and a door leading out to the backyard. Bedroom 2 also has a queen-size bed, a closet for you to store your belongings, and a bookshelf with some classics for you to enjoy during your stay. Both bedrooms have plenty of natural light streaming in so you won't miss out on a second of that San Diego sunshine! The bathroom is next to bedroom 1 and features luxurious stone flooring, granite counter tops, dual sinks, and a large walk-in shower. To get to the spacious backyard, go through the door in bedroom 1 and you'll find the perfect place to hang out on a sunny day! You can cook up some juicy burgers on the gas grill and enjoy them at a glass-top table for 6\. When you're ready for a bit of R&R, climb into the hot tub just around the corner. Location The house is located in a quiet neighborhood in trendy North Park with a park and playground just a few blocks away. Head in the other direction, and you will find bustling streets filled with bars, craft breweries, esteemed restaurants, and eclectic shops. A few places worth checking out nearby include Belching Beaver Brewing, Jayne's Gastropub, Nomad Donuts, Tiger! Tiger!, and Soda & Swine. Jump on the I-8 and you are a short drive to gorgeous beaches, a vibrant downtown, and the city's best attractions! "The yard wrapped around the house and was perfect for the kids to run around and us adults to lounge on the wonderful huge deck with a big comfortable outside couch and relax time in the hot tub. Private driveway with gate was nice for parking and to close off the yard for kids to play safely." “Conveniently located, no matter where we wanted to go, it took just minutes. It is surrounded by hip and trendy shops and restaurants that we enjoyed daily. But once you are behind the gate, you have your own little oasis. We immediately fell in love with the home and outdoor area." “One of the easiest reviews to write. The location is prime. 10 min walk to University; 10 min drive to zoo. Tasha keeps a great place. The hot tub was hot ready to use. The humidity and heat started to creep in and AC was key. It was located close to all the places we wanted to explore. Tasha was amazing with all my questions and always making sure that I knew she was available for help if I needed it. Our family had a great time. We relaxed in the hot tub after walking around site seeing. We were able to use the grill one night for dinner. My husband felt his truck was safe since we could park in the driveway and close the gate, since we drove across the country. The location is outstanding and minutes from most main attractions in SD area. The North Park neighbourhood is perfect to explore on foot with lots of local breweries, cafes and eats around! The house provided everything we needed...we especially enjoyed the lovely seating area in the back in the evenings for reading and just hanging out in the hot tub. We also appreciated having driveway parking as spots on the street were in high demand! Tasha the owner was always just an email away and provided quick responses and great information. This house was the perfect base camp for our week long stay in the San Diego area and provided us all the necessities we needed including access to laundry and an ubundance of towels! The kitchen was well stocked. My teenagers now want us to get a mattress for them "like the one on the bed in San Deigo" as it was super comfy! The location is perfect for exploring anywhere in San Diego (easy on/off for several freeways not far away (although far enough not to hear freeway noise)- walkable to restaurants, large grocery store (Vons), breweries, and numerous take out places. It is super comfortable with a smart TV that allows you to access your own streaming service, nice washer and dryer, wonderful shower (on demand hot water at a good water pressure), and very quiet and felt very safe. I can't say enough good things about this property; my family has stayed here a few times. This house is just so lovely and in a great location for really enjoying all that North Park has to offer. There's a really nice kitchen and living/dining area plus two cozy bedrooms. The bathroom is lovely, too—very spacious. The outdoor space is just stellar—perfect for lounging and dining/gathering. The hot tub is just lovely on chilly evenings and in the early AM, too. Overall, this house is well stocked. Good kitchen supplies. Plenty of dishes and glasses, plenty of towels. The house is also super clean. Tasha is a terrific host—very responsive and kind. We've stayed here multiple times and love it and consider it our San Diego spot for being with our CA family.
