Welcome to our petite beach retreat! Purchased in '14, we've slowly renovated it to provide a bright and stylish place to stay. A small front yard and large back yard provide multiple places to relax outdoors. The kitchen is fully outfitted for cooking and there's a BBQ grill outside. The house is located in Ocean Beach, about 10 minutes' drive to the airport and 15-20 minutes' walk to the beach, including several bars, breweries and restaurants. Bike paths connect you to Mission Bay and beyond Airplane Noise - the communities of Ocean Beach and Point Loma are located within the flight path of San Diego airport. There is a flight curfew between 11:00PM and 6:30AM and the double pane windows help block most of the noise indoors. If you are a light sleeper, you may wish to consider a different neighborhood in San Diego. We live 5 minutes away so let us know if you need anything, otherwise we'll leave you to it to enjoy your stay! The house is located in Ocean Beach near the intersection of West Point Loma and Nimitz Blvd. It's centrally located and provides convenient access to the freeways, airport, and downtown San Diego. The beach is about a 15-20 minute walk away. There are several grocery stores within a 5-minute drive, but we recommend Barron's Marketplace because it's small and never too busy which makes it easy to get in and out quickly. Please note that the communities of Ocean Beach and Point Loma are located within the flight path of San Diego airport. There is a flight curfew between 11:00PM and 6:30AM and the double pane windows help block most of the noise indoors. However, if you are a light sleeper, you may wish to consider a different neighborhood in San Diego. You'll have access to the entire home and all outdoor spaces. You will also be provided with a code for access to the garage which contains the laundry machines as well as some beach gear (including a wagon) that you are welcome to use! Interior - There are two small bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower (no tub). One bedroom has a queen size bed while the other has a full or double bed. There are closets in each of the bedrooms. In between the living room and the kitchen is a small dining table. Additional chairs can be found in the bedrooms. Exterior - The front yard contains two small grassy areas and a foot wash area for rinsing off after the beach. The back yard is much larger with a deck off the kitchen, a patio table, and a larger grassy area. We also have two veggie beds and you are welcome to help yourself to any ripe tomatoes or fresh herbs. You may also spot some blackberry vines along the fence and when they ripen in the spring, they are amazing! Neighborhood - the communities of Ocean Beach and Point Loma are located within the flight path of San Diego airport. There is a flight curfew between 11:00PM and 6:30AM and the double pane windows help block most of the noise indoors. However, if you are a light sleeper, you may wish to consider a different neighborhood in San Diego. Street parking can be a challenge in the beach communities but with off-street parking you can take advantage of the proximity to the beach and restaurants by walking, renting an e-scooter, or taking an Uber. A True Delight! Everything about this property is so cute, clean and well thought out. I can always tell a good property when the owner has laid out yummy complementary snacks & coffee and provides the really nice paper towels and cleaning supplies. (We’ve all seen the so-so places with the bargain paper towels and a single sponge sponge to clean with). The home has been lovingly renovated and well appointed. The yard is a delight as well. I would recommend adding another cushioned chair as the sofa is the only thing soft to sit on. Keep in mind that this area of Point Loma is directly under the flight path of SAN so you’ll need be patient with the intermittent noise. (There are quiet hours between 11 PM and 6:30 AM). That said, the location is very convenient and I would absolutely stay here again. ##### Kelly W. Good location to get to places. Comfortable beds and furniture, with a great listing of tv streaming services. A bit small for family of 3 for dining in, but manageable. Airplane noise was only reason for a 4+ star vs. 5 star, although it didn't really bother us and was quite through the night hours. Owners are pleasant and communicative. ##### Jan M. The place was extremely clean and comfortable. Big back yard which was a huge plus for my two year old. We weren’t at the place a whole lot but when we were she was able to run around in the back yard and play. Very close to Newport ave and short drives to pacific beach.
