The Neighborhood: North Pacific Beach in San Diego is a stretch of coastline extending approximately one mile north from Crystal Pier to Pacific Beach Point. It offers a calmer beach environment suitable for swimming and family activities, while also catering to surfers at its northern end, and providing access to the lively Pacific Beach boardwalk area. It is characterized by the following: Bordered by cliffs up to 75 feet in height, with a boardwalk traversing along the cliff-top for much of the southern end. The cliffside location offers excellent vantage points for watching sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. It connects to the 3.2-mile boardwalk that runs through Pacific Beach, providing a scenic path for walking, jogging, or biking along the oceanfront. With its wide sandy beach, the area around Law Street and Diamond Street is a popular spot for general beach going and relaxation during peak summer days, frequented by both tourists and locals. The waves are generally calmer compared to Tourmaline Surfing Park, making it more suitable for swimming and family-friendly beach activities.
