Pros: Great location; room had 2 balconies & we used one for sitting out at night looking at water, and the breezier one out back for drying clothes, wetsuits, etc.; most staff were very fluent in English (in the event you don't speak Spanish.)
Cons: room is a bit worn, particularly around windows & patio doors which did not lock or had wide air gaps - we weren't concerned about security (town is quite safe), but we got many bugs in the room including mosquitoes & ants; found dried blood on pillowcase - probably washed in, but still gross; at breakfast, food was not always covered which meant birds had their beaks in everything, including jelly, breads, etc. That quickly ended our desire for free breakfasts; service was also lacking - when we sat down for breakfast we were told to move to the table that [we hadn't noticed] had silverware...why not just move the silverware?; on our last morning, about 15 minutes before breakfast, got a firm knock on the door (there are no DND signs) and were told to rise & shine if we wanted breakfast. We declined. Tourist advice we got didn't always align with our requests & we almost missed out on the highlight of our trip, La Loberia, which they declined to recommend despite our desire to snorkel with sea lions. In general, despite having almost zero needs, staff made us feel like a necessary cog, rather than like welcome guests. Also there was daily, early construction noise, but that's beyond their control.
