We swan every day as the sun was shining and the lake it very tempting. Grit your teeth, the waters are rather "bracing". Jorge and Maria made our 4 day stay very special. We had the evening meal each night, no options on what mains you were getting, but the days menu is on the board so you know what's coming. Always well prepared and presented. The hotel is well located for exploring the southern lakes if you've got a car. Our double room, although not large, was clean and comfortable. The highlight of this waterfront lodge is the property itself, which offers magnificent views of the water and nearby mountains. There are several stoney beaches within a short walk of the lodge, including the one at the lodge itself, which provide great opportunities for swimming, kayaking, windboarding or simply enjoying the incredible vistas. Also, the lodge, which is very well run by Jorge and his wife, offers a variety of well prepared meals at reasonable rates. If you prefer to eat out, there is a pizza restaurant in the nearby village,which aside from pizza, has amazing empanadas. We loved it. The managers were excellent, friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It is excellent value for money. We were lucky to spend Xmas and new year there, which was a pleasure as they made it a real family affair. The evening meals were very good and the celebration meals a delicious treat. The public areas are comfortable and it has a great terrace overlooking the lake. It has a lovely garden to relax in after a day exploring/hiking. The small private beach is perfect for swimming, be warned the water is cold. The location is perfect if, like us, you prefer peace and quiet. It's approx.30min bus ride into busy Bariloche. In high season it's easy to get around by bus, there is a regular service.
