This condo interacts with the other condos in that it is on the fourth floor in a four-story building. The fourth floor has Condo Dahlia but the front section of the fourth floor is the called the Congo Lounge and it is open to all guests. There are tables, chairs, sofas, and hammocks, as well as amazing views, ocean breezes, and howler monkeys hanging from the nearby trees! Alta Vista is in the Samara neighborhood of Cangrejal, on the north end of the bay of Samara. Cangrejal is a Costa Rican neighborhood, an old fishing village, and is very quiet with no loud music or bars. There is a great casual restaurant in Cangrejal just down the street towards the beach from Alta Vista called "La Perla" which offers great healthy local cuisine at reasonable prices. Two blocks away from Alta Vista opposite the beach is a popular supermarket named "La Iguana Verde", a medium size grocery and liquor store. A neighborhood like Sámara is safe in general. However, always be aware of your personal belongings on the beach or in public. Please be safe and considerate to the other guests of the building by closing and locking your parking garage gate. Before you arrive, please message Hilda & Patrick using the Airbnb messenger with your arrival time. It will help to exchange phone numbers at that point so you can call Hilda when you pass through Nicoya on your way to Samara. Nicoya is 50 minutes away and lets Hilda know your exact arrival time. When you pull up, you will see the sign on the front door: Alta Vista Condominiums, and the four-story building. If you’ve called us from Nicoya, we’ll be waiting to open the parking gate for you! Our friendly administrator Hilda will greet you with the keys and begin your check in. The space inside Condo Dahlia can be described as simple, modern, clean, and relaxing. The giant floor to ceiling windows that face the mountain forest are the biggest picture frame you could have! There is a private roofed balcony with furniture that acts as the dining area to enjoy this view from. There are big windows in the condo facing the beach and ocean as well. You are free to use the shared Congo Lounge. It will feel like your own space and most of the time it will be but please remember it is shared. The bed is an upscale pillow top and the linens are fine 300+ thread count. The open floor plan allows for easy movement, relaxation, and enjoyment of the view. There are two individual a/c units to keep you cool. Most guests either choose to rent a car and drive from the airport to Alta Vista or take some sort of private transportation. I do not recommend local transportation; you'd be taking 3-4 buses! Just say the word and Hilda can help you make a reservation for a private shuttle van; we have a company that has been providing dependable service for almost a decade. They will meet you at the airport with your name on a sign and drive you approx. two hours to Alta Vista in a comfortable, air-conditioned van usually stocked with cold water and fresh fruit. The driver typically speaks enough English to get by. They will stop at a grocery store in Nicoya if you choose. The street where the condo is located is on a dead-end street so there is very little traffic, yet it's close to town and the beach so we were able to walk everywhere. The condo itself is well-equipped and maintained very well--any problems we had were promptly addressed. There is a manager on-site so we were well taken care of. The view was outstanding! The owner only refunded half of the last night saying he has written it down. So- it’s much worse than what is written when it is experienced. Not worth going to a peaceful place to get bothered by loud obtrusive construction noises. Located 10 min (if you're walking slowly) from the city center on a quiet street, this beautiful property has it all: view, location, wonderfully clean and welcoming spaces, privacy and a delightful plunge pool when it just gets too hot in the late afternoon. The team who manage the property were 100% responsive and their lovely warmth and welcoming natures made us feel right-at-home. We stayed in the top floor and while the patio is 'shared' we essentially had it to ourselves. The deep patio provides shelter from the sun and the lovely furniture (no expense spared!) welcomed our tired bodies and gave us a safe place to rest and recharge. Evenings are lovely there too as you can enjoy the sunset, the view of the the bay, and shelter from the topical rains. Waking to the monkeys in the trees behind the building with utter privacy is a delight, the bathroom and living space are well designed, and the entire area feels soft -- like being hugged by that lovely uncle or aunt who hold you tenderly and lovingly. Just a few hundred yards to the beach and about 1/4 mile walk to town, it is perfectly situated. The huge shared balcony right outside our door gave us roomy outdoor space whether sharing with one of the neighbors or enjoying by ourselves. The locked, covered parking spot and Denis' presence help you feel very secure. The beach chairs, umbrella, and towels were a nice add-on, making excursions to the beach easy and comfortable. The only downside for some (not for us) would be the 77 steps you must climb each time you return to the condo. But the trade off is the view. It goes on and on. Good job, Patrick, on creating a nice vacation oasis. One we hope to return to some day. ##### JON N. Clean, bright, and modern, we were very happy to stay here. The condo was perfect and well-equipped for the two of us, close to town and the beach. Very clean and well maintained. We never used the car once we arrived, we walk to town and the beach every day.
