Keowee is beautiful. The fall color was gorgeous the lake was sparkling the weather perfect. We wish we would have had more time to explore the walking trails and try the restaurants. The property was clean and had everything we needed. I especially appreciated the basket of granola bars and the coffee in the cupboard! It was nice to be a little way out from Clemson and get a whole townhouse for a better price than a downtown hotel room. I also loved the ease of checking in. When we had an issue with our key code, it was fixed within minutes. Oh and the app that opens gates? That’s pretty cool. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with a family of six. The kids enjoyed the on site amenities such as ping pong, darts and poker games. The property amenities (including a pool, tennis courts and fishing dock) are a 10 minute walk using the walking trail that is located nearby. Check I process was a little confusing. Directions had 2 different ways in accessing South Entrance. Of course I took the wrong entrance for members. Directions said if you had Waze to enter Keowee Key South so I did. I should have taken Rochester Hwy. Tarah was awesome and responded to my call and led me to the correct entrance. If you access member gate will not open. Bedrooms were good size and the kids liked the treadle beds. AC was great and a tad bit cold on the lower level. We kept door open which helped. Kitchen was well stocked but a little small. We had access to 2 pools. Wish we knew kayak closed at 4p but we will for next time. Alway love having a washer and dryer. We brought our dog and he even had a good time. I wish we had a map of where different areas were. I think it would be good to have this by the tourist information. We had to ask around and Julie from Keowee administration was very helpful. Tarah’s communication was excellent. She usually responded right away. Thank you Tarah for your hospitality. We traveled from Michigan to use our boat on Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee and cannot recommend it enough due to the location to both lakes, all the facilities at Keowee Key, proximity to hiking trails, the home itself and the host. We are a family of five which includes three teenagers and the home had all we needed and the host is very attentive. It was perfect for our active family!The lake is amazing to get on with a boat. Plenty of places with little to no traffic for all you watersport interests. There are waterfalls to visit and rocks to jump off for some adventures as well as some great views to simply see while cruising and restaurants to pull up to. The lake water is clean and plenty deep to not worry about where you go and the potential of damaging your boat. Staying at this home in particular has some great advantages over other areas at Keowee Key. You are in walking distance to the dry storage area to keep you boat overnight if you plan to launch it each day as opposed to using a slip. Since the facility is all keyed access, you can feel safe leaving your boat and trailer in storage. You are also close to the south marina to drop it in easily. The marina launch is not busy. It has a very nice launch set up and great dock to use and there is temporary parking for your car and trailer during the day.
