The rooms are dated. The front desk staff is not friendly. The attempt to maximize revenues from each customer creates an uncomfortable environment. The view from the rooms is magnificent.

Superbe hôtel! Le personnel est très sympathique. Notre chambre était grande et propre. Beaucoup de choix pour l'intensité de la luminosité. Belle douche spacieuse et configuration de la salle de bain très pratique. Agréable d'avoir accès aux canaux musicaux de Stingray. Seul petit point négatif: les motoneiges en dessous de notre fenêtre de chambre nous ont réveillé tôt.

Love this hotel!
I love everything about this hotel! The rooms are cute and so clean! The bathrooms are beautiful and modern. The staff were so kind to us and helped us even when we could not speak French. I cannot say this about other places we stayed at in Quebec. The dinner and breakfast at the restaurant are absolutely delicious. I hope one day I can visit again. I highly recommend this place for every Canadian and people all around the world. Also, it is a great location near the Fjords provincial park.

Very welcoming staff Recommended a nice local hike with great views- wear good hiking shoes Lovely views Excellent restaurant- breakfast and dinner package well worth it Balcony on room overlooking the Bay- watching sunset with glass of wine 25 minute drive to Baie Eternite section of Fjords Ayional park for great hiking Beautiful area

Don’t even considerate it
We were to spend some pleasure time but there was no much to do in the surrounding. At the hotel, the internet signal was very poor, almost null. The billard and the gym were closed du to Covid, however in others hotels are opened. So we had to stay one night for $224 !!! A real theft

Excellent meals and service (although the coffee wasn’t good). The room was large and the bathroom was immaculate and modern. Great view from the dining room. We enjoyed a delicious supper and filling breakfast there.

Great location and atmosphere
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Great location, overlooking the bay. We requested the bay view when we booked the room and that's what we got. Visiting the restaurant was a special pleasure, it has huge windows and a bay view (the breakfasts we had there were nothing special, but they were fine). The air conditioning in the room was not perfect: there was a noisy unit on the wall next to one of the beds, and it turns on and restarts loudly in the middle of the night, so we opted to turn it off completely and just keep the window open hoping for a breeze. Not the best option in the summer. The hotel served us as a base for exploration of the Saguenay Fjord National park which is spread widely over the fjord and La Baie seemed like a convenient enough middle point. Also, the hotel is unique and big on atmosphere, which we value a lot when on vacation. Overall, thumbs up!

Stunning beauty overlooking the fiord
Chairs and tables are set out on the front lawn where you can relax with a book and a drink. The scene constantly changes as your eyes drift over the water of the fiord. The expanse is so great that you can watch the wind playing with the water creating myriad patterns. There is usually long branches of mist moving with slow grace over the blue-black water. A truly moving experience.

Lovely surroundings
4 of us stayed at this auberge. We had two rooms, one of ehich had been completely renovated while the other was not. The room renovated was done so very tastefully. Both rooms were very clean. The staff at this auberge were very friendly. We ate in the dining room for breakfast and evening meal. Everything was made on site and quite delicious

The rooms are clean and the bathrooms have been recently updated. The view is nice (though partially obstructed by power lines, this didn't really bother me). The restaurant downstairs seemed very popular with locals and guests alike though we opted to venture out of the hotel for our meal. Staff was great.

nice hotel in the country, but still close to town
Very nice hotel thats sits up on a hill overlooking the river. Great room with a small balcony on river side of building. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Nice rest.,but did not eat here.

Nice place, a bit fsr from Chicoutimi
As stated by pthers, the photo is deceiving. The condition of the place is a bit used. However staff is awesime and ready to help immediately! Clean and confy. Our fridge was not working and was replaced very soon. It is nice but about 15-20' away from Chicoutimi. Close tonde Musée du Fjord.

It was a very comfortable place to stay for day hikes along the Saguenay River. The staff was very pleasant, and our room overlooking the bay was great. The only suggestion for improvement is to make better coffee.

Hilltop Treasure Retreat

Staff friendly and helpful. The dining room has lovely windows and the views of the bay are beautiful. Only had breakfast there but it was good. The building is not new but the rooms are well kept and very clean. The bed was pretty firm so slept a little rough. It was close to family and that was great.

On a visit to the area, we stayed in this place. having terrace and nice view was great. The staff were helpful in providing information on what to do and where to eat etc. While most of the staff were extremely helpful, one wasn't conducting himself professionally. The furniture are somehow aged.

I generally do not leave poor reviews but felt compelled after our stay here. We were very disappointed in our experience. The rooms and hotel itself do not look like the photos that are on Hotels.com and its site. The hotel is very dated and not high quality. We also had a roach in our bathroom. The place is out of the way and beyond the nice view this place doesn't have much going for it. I was expecting way more for price we paid.

Pictures of the hotel are a little misleading. It does have a view of the river but is situated overlooking a busy main road and power lines so not the peaceful view you are led to believe! The hotel is pleasant enough but aspects are looking rather worn and tired. It was very quiet when we stayed which was surprising for August. It had a motel feel but with good, but expensive, food available. The breakfast is good value but brown paper napkins rather spoils the effect. Generally overpriced for what you get.

Great location to explore the Saguenay area.
On arrival the reception staff could not have been more helpful in organising tickets for a fiord cruise and a musical production. The bedroom was very clean with wonderful views over La Baie. Restaurant meals were excellent with service to match.

We went there from Montreal with my parents, it's a beautiful place. We stayed for one night and they charged us $174 which I think it was still pricy a bit for that place though..
