The Waldhotel Fletschhorn was an undoubted highlight of the trip The setting is just stunning. Saas Fee itself was a revelation, with the glacier looming above it, but the journey to the hotel, in the little electric buggy with it’s very friendly Italian driver, was an amazing further introduction for ourselves and our children. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier throughout our stay, showing a personal interest (our son received exam results while we were there for example) . The food was magnificent. We ate in the restaurant one night and had breakfast both days. It’s not cheap (this is an exclusive part of Switzerland after all) but it was pretty sensational. The free access to the ski lifts, which comes as part of the hotel price during the summer, was a very pleasant surprise. We took full advantage.
