We loved our stay at Altos de Cano Hondo. It is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We also loved the hotel guide Wilfred who took us on a great tour! The architecture of the hotel was wonderful, the food was basic but good and the scenery was beautiful. You should note that Altos Cano Hondo is the smaller sister hotel to the larger Paraiso Cano Hondo. The downside was the weather! We had so much rain, and everywhere was damp and muddy. A la carte restaurant meals were fairly good, but the dinner buffets (which we were forced to have on occasions) were not very inspiring.
