"Delayed on the M6 for 9 hours and finally arrived. Service from first contact was incredible. Rang and told reception we were stuck on the M6 and concerned the room wouldn't be held to be reassured and not too worry. Arrived and gentleman came to the reception after 11.30pm at night to give us our room key with no issues. Room clean and tidy . Refreshments left. Staff in the hotel were polite , had a good banter and the food was delicious. we come here every year for a caravan stay and or long weekends away. Never disappointed."

"Good base to visit the Northern Lakes. Stunning views from our very spacious and comfortable room. Had to choose breakfast options the evening before. Dinner was limited to a set menu with no choice so we ate out. "

Excellent breakfast with fresh ingredients. Attentive staff who went above for any concern and was knowlegeable about the local area."

"The garden around the hotel is in a beautiful position on the lake but is overgrown and unkempt. The hotel could do activities from the lake side ie canoeing and lake tours "

"We stayed for 6 days over Easter. The hotel is surrounded by countryside and a few buildings nearby yet is close to Whitehaven. The views are lovely - out to sea and across to Scotland. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were always very friendly. We ate in the hotel most nights, enjoying the well-presented tasty food. My food intolerances were well taken care of. The Rosehill Theatre is not far away and we enjoyed our visit there. The garden is going to be landscaped so wasn't very inviting; the hotel is in process of refurbishment although we weren't inconvenienced by any ongoing work. We felt very relaxed staying there. It was convenient for days out walking and sightseeing."
