Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and the staff is absolutely fantastic. They did everything to make our stay relaxing and worry free. The sunrises from our porch were spectacular and the private beach is like a little slice of heaven. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and stay here again in a heartbeat. What a lovely find. Right on lake Rotorua with a private beach and jetty, this was an exceptional, though short, stay. Our host was charming. There were kayaks available for guests to use. There was a pretty lawn with lounge chairs and beautiful landscaping. We didn’t have an opportunity to use them, but there was a hot tub and a sauna next to the lake. Breakfast was very good, and it could be eaten outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake or in a lovely room with a cozy fireplace and cathedral ceiling and wall of glass with amazing views. The manager was wonderful and very accommodating. It's right on the lake and you can watch the sun rise every morning. Be aware some of the rooms are actually 2 rooms joined together! They don't advertise this well. I was unpleasantly surprised to find I (traveling solo) had booked 2 hotel rooms! The manager seemed really reluctant to do anything until I escalated my complaints to the owner. He fed me lines of BS about the 2nd room "It's the ensuite" "it's the sitting room" "all our rooms are like this". It was very frustrating to deal with. Eventually they put me in a more suitable single room next door. It had cobwebs but was generally clean and comfortable. They have a sauna/hottub and kayaks you can borrow. It's a little far from the city center so have a car or don't mind paying for Uber.
