The Apple Store, Great Doward In The Wye Valley

  • The Apple Store is a self contained annexe to 'Old Kiln House', which is an 18th century farmhouse and cider orchard. Situated on 'Great Doward, a hill of mixed farm and woodland set in the lower Wye Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the property has extensive views across the Wye Valley. Numerous excellent walks begin right from the doorstep and King Arthur's Cave can be seen and easily visited from the Apple Store. The old barn and outbuilding have recently been restored to provide comfort and modern convenience in an idyllic rural setting.

Absolutely loved our stay at this place, quiet, cosy, comfortable, super clean and a great location to drive to local village castles etc or walk about in nearby woods, river, pubs. An excellent two storey cottage, rather larger than pictures suggest. Very clean, well presented and comfortable in a beautiful location. The kitchen was well equipped with thoughtful touches that made self-catering very easy. Attractive garden with outside seating and lovely views. Bedrooms surprisingly spacious with good hanging space. Clear and regular contact withe delightful hosts made for an enjoyable stay

Great to be welcomed by our host and shown through the property. Also enjoyed the welcome by the sheep. Very happy staying at the Apple Store. Able to relax in the quiet surroundings. Amenities were excellent. Thankful that the manual for the washing machine was available. Also having a clothes airer made getting our clothes dry. Would recommend this property highly.

Lovely peaceful surroundings

Very quaint little cottage. Nice and peaceful surroundings. Was nice to sit out in the back garden with a drink taking in the surroundings and watching the sheep and birds of prey. Nice walks in the vicinity too. Enjoyed our stay.

The old Apple Store has been tastefully renovated. Hosts very friendly and helpful Countryside is beautiful- did many local walks plus the canoe day trip.. much enjoyed our 2 weeks in the Wye Valley

Absolutely loved The Apple Store! Lovely scenic spot and very accommodating hosts. Great location from which to tour the countryside and a charming cottage to come back to at night. I would enjoy another stay here.

Very relaxing stay

A beautiful setting in the Wye Valley. The property is perfect for a family. We loved the views from the garden. The sheep were entertaining. Buzzards constantly calling from the trees.
