"Good for a weekend break"
We booked for two nights for a friend's 75th birthday celebration being held at the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and spent quite some time trying to hook up our tablets to their wifi (without much success unfortunately). The room was good, bed very comfy but the temperature in the room was far too warm. Both the radiators were turned off but the towel rail in the bathroom was far too hot and there was no way to turn it down or off. Even with care, I nearly burnt my arm on it. The food we had (dinner and two breakfasts) was excellent as were all the waiting and bar staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Lovely hotel, great management"
We stayed for 2 nights and were very impressed. The building itself is nice, and the rooms are clean and well presented. But what really impressed us was the helpfulness and attitude of the staff. They went out of their way to make us welcome and to make our stay more enjoyable. They made several phone calls to book a canoeing trip for us on the River Wye, and they also made a picnic for us to take. We had glasses of wine brought to our room, and nothing was too much trouble. We ate one evening in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious and inventive with generous portions. The other evening we went to a local Nepalese restaurant (Yaks n Yetis - which was also very good). The hotel management made the booking for us, even though we were choosing to not eat in their own restaurant. We will definitely be going back!

"Enjoyable stay at the Hope & Anchor!"
Debbie the owner had responded swiftly to my email about getting a key in the morning, i.e. well-before the official earliest check-in time, so that I could attend a wedding at 11am in the town, which I was very grateful for. Room clean if not the most modern but appropriate for the age of the building perhaps, and free parking within the pub area. Wonderful view of the beer garden and river from the breakfast room, and friendly service too.

"Quaint B&B in picturesque location"
We stayed here for two nights in June. The room was on the top floor, overlooking the river. The room was clean & comfortable with a four poster bed and ornate shash windows. The shower room was reallyreally small but functional and most important spotless. The decor was old fashioned and the building was in need of a little tlc, but this added to the character. Judy the owner was really friendly and knowledgeable about the local area with good recommendations and her breakfast was great. Great stay!!

"Pleasant stay in good value tradional coaching inn"
Stayed here recently for 3 nights with my wife. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the top floor. Word of warning...there is no lift and both staircases are steep. There is free car parking for guests, but the hotel was full when we stayed so we had to park one night on the street (free). We had an evening meal in the hotel resturant on our first night. I had lamb, my wife had steak. Both were very good. I can recommend the Malbec to compliment the meal. The breakfasts are freshly cooked to order and very tasty. The hotel gets very busy in the evening with guests and locals. Our room overlooked the patio. There was loud noise from the patio area past midnight on the Saturday night. This may have been because it was a very warm evening. There is sign in the patio area stating it must be vacated by 11.10pm. Overall, an excellent base to explore the Wye Valley.

"Excellent guest house in great location "
Very enjoyable stay at Linden House over the weekend. Situated in a great location close to the town centre of Ross on Wye, which acted as a great base to explore the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is fantastic (made to order) and Patrick is a very friendly and attentive host with a lot of local knowledge. All in all a very pleasant stay, would definitely stay at Linden House again.

"slap bang in the middle of Ross"
right in the middle of Ross, so location is pretty good, close to all pubs and shops. Guesthouse was pretty good, staff was very pleasant and very helpful. the only thing about the guesthouse is that is has no parking. There is a council run parking but it is a little walk away and there is a fee required for parking all day (but is only £1.50 for the whole day) the room we stayed is was fairly clean, but there had been an unpleasant discovery that should have been picked up before we arrived, yuk! Also the floor creaks all over and the room needs redecorating/ updating.
