Run down dirty house
We enjoyed our stay despite the quality of the house and because of its location right on the lake. As pointed out in other reviews, it is very old and not maintained at all. In addition, it is dirty and cheap. We were supplied with dirty towels with stains on them. The $2 plastic table cover is many years old and with holes in it (would be very easy to buy a new one, but there is nothing new in this house). It is dirty inside kitchen cabinets, so I washed all dishes before using them, because I did not trusted their cleanliness (There is no dishwasher). There is no air conditioner either, and not enough fans to make temperature comfortable in the bedrooms in hot weather. Internet was of a good quality, but not enough electric outlets in the bedrooms to conveniently charge phones and conveniently place fans (also very old, dirty, and rusty, not pleasant to use).

Property As Advertised
This is a basic cottage on the lake. It is dated but relatively clean. It is perfect for a week fishing trip. Fishing Lake Seneca is ok. The host was extremely helpful and was easy to contact. If you are looking to get away for a few days on Lake Seneca and you are going to be spending most of your time visiting local sites or out on the lake fishing or water sports, this cottage is a reasonable price for the area.

Great communication with host
The host was very reachable for questions and a pleasure to work with. The house is dated but everything works fine.. We brought our boat to the lake for fishing and water sports; having a functional boat lift to get it out of the water when the waves were rough was fantastic. I would recommend this place more for the guys going on a fishing trip rather than a place for the little ones to play in and on the water until the dock is improved. All in all we had a great time!!

As advertised
We had a nice time at this house. The property owner was friendly and accessible, and helped when we had an issue. We were very happy to have a hoist at our disposal so we didn't have to take the boat out of the water every day. Great location near Geneva and lots of wineries, distilleries and breweries if you're into that sort of thing. The property is old, and the building is settling toward the lake. The dock is safe enough, but I wouldn't walk barefoot on it due to its age. The kitchen is good enough, but a little light on utensils. The furniture isn't super comfortable, so I'd recommend bringing lawn or camp chairs. Again, not luxurious, but certainly good enough for our purposes.

Rustic lake house
Fantastic location. Minutes from Geneva and Wegmans to the north and the state park and marina to the south. Pictures are accurate, property is old and dated, but nothing wrong with that. Enjoyed our week.

Relaxing Rustic Seneca Lake
We had a relaxing time despite trying to quarantine in NY. The property is old and rustic but we knew that going in. The owner lives next door and was very nice (caught us a trout, filleted it and all !) Other side neighbors are very nice too. All in all, a great vacation at a beautiful place

Seneca Lake Getaway
We had a nice stay. The property is very nice for young children. There is a nice back yard that slopes down to the lake. The water level at the start of the water was perfect for our 3 year olds. They were able to run and sit in the water. The water was sparkling while we were there. We were able to swim everyday. Access to the boat hoist was great as well. The dock was older but served its purpose. There was a fire pit by the water. They had a very nice charcoal grill. The home was older, but again was fine. The kitchen had all that we needed to cook our meals each day. There was a nice TV in the living room where we were able to login to our Hulu, Netflix, Disney plus, etc for rainy days. Sunsets were amazing from the bench at the end of the dock.

Property should not be rented in its current condition and at this price
We were able to enjoy our stay in the area in spite of, not because of, this property. The cottage is deplorable. It is dilapidated, dated, and dirty. It appears to have significant structural problems as the first and second floors sag in the middle and there are cracks evident on the walls. Mold appeared to be present on the bottom of the first floor doors. The house has not been updated in decades. It smelled musty. The shower is a tiny stall. The floors were dirty, as was most of the rest of the cottage. There were ants in the kitchen. Many of the boards on the dock are rotten and had nails popping up, so I was concerned about having my 6 and 8-year-old children walk down it unassisted and even I was concerned about falling through the boards. The cottage may be acceptable for a group of men who just want a place to sleep after fishing all day, but it was not appropriate for a family. I did have some concerns after reading prior comments, but decided to give it a try after having to cancel another trip due to Covid and not having a large selection due to the late notice. The listing does not accurately reflect the poor condition of the cottage and it was not worth the price. There were some positive aspects. The owner did communicate when needed and seemed pleasant although we did not meet him. (We learned that he owns the house next door. We were able to see him on his dock on a few occasions where he was able to observe us during the stay.) There was nice access to the lake for swimming, a small bonfire area, the weather was beautiful, and the neighbors were wonderful. We had family in New York who met and visited with us there for a day. We were able to spend most of our time visiting the local parks and wineries, and the kids are young enough that they did not care as much about where we stayed, so the trip overall was fun despite the accommodations. We will not return to this property.

Love the area.
My daughter and I spent two weeks at this rental and loved it. We had family near by, so it was very convenient. We spent a lot of time outside-and it was nice that there was both shade and sun. Some clarity was missing on the description. There was wi-fi. With young children-note that there is a breakfront (about a two-drop) to the water. There is a ladder on the dock and on the shore, but for wandering children-it is important to note. I would definitely rent this spot again.
