After buzzing the bell for 35-40 mins, we walked in because another person buzzed us in the property. A contact number to Alex was on the door and on calling him we were informed that the rooms were overbooked and there was an alternate apartment about a mile away, where arrangements had been made. No transportation was provided. We had to drag our bags to the other apartment, Alex refuses to answer our repeated calls and our breakfast package booking was converted to a room only and we were returned €2.50 to cover breakfast charges. A nightmarish experience with a terrible host Alex who couldn’t care less. Terrible Terri experience. He gave us a great overview of the city of Rome which was very useful in getting around. The hotel has no front desk and you have to arrange in advance to meet someone to let you in. In all fairness this information was listed in our Expedia booking confirmation email, but we did not notice it until after the fact. It did make for a challenging check in process. The hotel was very clean and the air conditioner worked very well and was extremely welcomed. However, the wifi was spotty at best. Breakfast was minimal. The overall feel was like a hostel with a private room. If you are looking for clean, affordable lodging very near the Vatican this is your place, and I would recommend. Very responsive and so nice and accommodating. Room was spacious with good working AC and WiFi.
