Communication from the host was essentially nonexistent. I contacted them four days before arrival and again the day before to confirm access details—no reply at all. We eventually had to go through Stayz, and after an hour of chatbots, a local representative finally called us an hour after our scheduled check‑in. Despite check‑in being from 3pm (and me advising we’d arrive at 4pm), we were told we couldn’t get keys until 6pm. It was extremely stressful not knowing if we’d even have somewhere to stay.The apartment itself was very poorly maintained. The shower heads were broken, water pressure was weak, and the place wasn’t very clean. There were no basic cleaning items like tea towels or sponges, yet signs everywhere told guests to keep the apartment clean. The washing machine broke with our clothes stuck inside, and again the host did not respond at all. The kitchen was also poorly equipped—no tongs, very limited basics. Despite asking multiple times, we were never given the Wi‑Fi details.The location is good, but that’s the only positive. The apartment is not as described, and the host simply does not communicate. We saw earlier reviews mentioning issues and hoped they were teething problems, but they weren’t. If you have any other option, book elsewhere. Air conditioning worked well in some rooms and did not work in 1 bedroom/living room. Complained about this on day 1 of 5 nights and it was never addressed by the owner. Kitchen did not have napkins/paper towels, poorly stocked utensils, & no dishwasher soap. 3 stories to the apartment with no elevator. Even for well finessed people, you definitely felt the climb especially with suitcases. 1 shower had no water pressure. And 1 set of keys for 12 people? Location was great and there is a grocery story a few minutes away as well as good restaurants and bars. ##### Bruno M. I was a bit nervous with no reviews, as this must be a new unit. There are a few things that were challenging, which I’ll explain for the best experience for upcoming travelers, but overall if you have a big family, this place is phenomenal. The first thing is the amazingly beautiful and historic staircase. There are 72 steps to climb to the apartment, if you do not have mobility issues just take it on as a challenge and a way to overcome all the delicious food you’ll eat in Trastevere. The spiral staircase is stunning, and it was great for photos of my daughter in her wedding dress before the beautiful wedding at the Basilica of Santa Maria. Stairs are part of the Rome experience, just go with it!The biggest challenge we had was the lack of sets of keys. We started with only one, then the host brought us another, but our group broke into 3-4 groups each day, and quite frankly we had several terrible issues without access to the apartment. We never made it back to the Roman forum because if this, and I’m still really sad about my family missing one of the best things in Roma. So please be prepared logistically for this situation. The apartment itself is quite charming, but if you’re American, the washing machine is not operable without guidance. We do not have this type of machine in America, and there is not a dryer, so you’ll need to plan ahead on washing. Also, Italians do not go through towels like we do, so please pack some extras! ![There is a door that unlatches and you add the clothes to the inside of the drum. Séjour de 7 nuits en mai 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Yvette K. 29 mars 2025 #### Great location, nice size apartment, host not so nice. Apartment has 4 spacious bedrooms and a large kitchen area. It is a 3 flight walk up with suitcases but we managed. Host is not responsive. Never met her but typical response time is 2-4 hours. Had an issue with the washing machine and she was quick in her response time indicating that it was 100% my fault when in fact the lid was simply stuck. Apartment had good size beds, clean bedding and neat appearance. Bathrooms could be cleaned better and black mold spores removed around window and ceiling. ##### Yvette K.
