The Metro is a 2-minute walk for easy transportation options. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a building in Via del Colosseo. From the entrance you will have access directly to the living room where you will find a comfortable sofa, a dining area with a table able, once opened, to accommodate up to five guests. From the living you will get access to the first bedroom, and to a small corridor, that will take you to the independent kitchen and to the second bedroom. The kitchen has all the amenities you need to prepare delicious meals. All the conveniences you expect are included: a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and a washing machine with a traditional Italian-style rack dryer. Both the bedrooms come with king size beds, and both have an en suite bathroom with shower, sink, wc and bidet. The second bedroom, slightly larger, also comes with a wardrobe room, which is as antechamber to the bathroom. The design is elegant and comfortable. Independent heating, air conditioning in every room and free Wi-Fi internet connection; we will be happy to supply a baby cot on request. The apartment is located in Via del Colosseo, just a few meters from one of the most appreciated and famous monuments in the world. Just a short 15 minute stroll and you will be at the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Navona. It was difficult to check in because the card machine was not working when we tried to pay. In the end we needed to pay another day with a different card that cost us 23€ more because of the exchange rate that we tried to avoid. Many toiletries and towels in the house but the floors/walls were not very clean. The shower is mouldy and after a couple of showers the mould was too much. The sheets had many holes which was not appropriate for the money we paid. ##### maria g. Séjour de 6 nuits en octobre 2019 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Voyageur vérifié 13 oct. 2019 Points forts : Propreté #### Perfect location as a one off It's in the heart of Imperial Rome. That's both good and bad. The good: if you want to do, say, night time tours of the Forums or the Colosseum (highly recommended) you just cross the road. The bad is that you'll be hard pressed to find authentic local eateries nearby. For the most part they're tourist traps. You'd get better food outside the city centre, but it's less convenient. It's a trade off. There's a well stocked mini supermarket on a street just down from the far end of the Coloseeum. I'll get the few negatives out of the way first. The check in process was a bit fiddly; I was asked to fill in a check in form on Google Docs including information like expected time of arrival and expected train... and then received a message on the day of arrival asking for exactly the same thing. On arrival there was an awful lot of form filling (by hand), when we just wanted to unpack and get on with the holiday. The process was courteous; it could just do with some streamlining. Remember to take enough cash to cover the city tax. (That's a government rule.) The internet wasn't running when we arrived, but a replacement "pocket modem" was supplied. However it tended to be intermittent in its availability. There was some deeply embedded mould in the grout of the bathrooms which bothered some of us more than others, but aside from that they were still very clean. The showers have no soap holders, which isn't convenient. Now the good. The location, obviously. The standard of cleaning overall was very good. I considered the beds to be comfortable, and there was plenty of linen for everyone. The kitchen is very small (one person at a time can fit) but that's normal for the area and it was well equipped. There is no dish washer, but there is a front loading clothes washer which was a fiddly sod of a thing to use and on one occasion locked a load of clothes in overnight. However when it worked it worked well, and when we had the problem the owners were very responsive and sent someone to help the following morning. I'd add that as a positive; the owner responsiveness was extremely good. It's mostly done via WhatsApp so I'd recommend having that installed. The proximity to the metro system (Colosseo station line B) is excellent, but you should be aware that for the rest of 2019 that line will be subject to early closures and complete shut downs on the weekend relating to the construction of Line C. Transportation by subway and cab was easy. We had a difficult time communicating with the apartment manager sine he did not respond to numerous emails I sent to him about logistics. Orlando is very friendly and helpful. The location is central, Metro station is around the corner(literally), so is the Colosseum itself. Clean and comfortable apartment. Small showers but good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Orlando greeted us and recommended Carbonara for dinner- an excellent local choice. Armed guards at the door to the complex were very friendly and always greeted us- very secure apartment in a great neighborhood. The Metro stop is very close and we walked as far as the Trevi Fountain from here and I’m not a young athlete! The area feels very safe and this complex has 2 police officers on guard 24 hours too. We arrived a little earlier than we expected, but Orlando was notified and made his way over quickly to greet us and let us in. I felt very fortunate to find a ground level apartment with two master en suites for my husband and me and our daughter and son-in-law. The kitchen and living rooms are small, but we didn’t spend much time in them. We used the washer ( no dryer) to start the cruise with fresh clothes. Orlando made arrangements for our transportation from the apartment to the ship that ended our perfect stay in Rome. Highly recommend this apartment for brief stays in central Rome. ##### Beverly C. Were able to walk to all the main attractions except for the Vatican. Don't be alarmed by the armed guards outside the building. They are actually a positive. It made us feel very safe. Only hitch was check in . They have you go online and submit your time of arrival. We did that and we're at the apartment at that exact time. We waited for 20 minutes no one showed up. The apartment was clean, tidy and warm with comfy beds which was wonderful after long tiring days. To be able to see the colosseum when stepping out of the front door was amazing. We walked everywhere other than to the Vatican which we used the local bus to get to. Definitely need comfy shoes as we walked 23.5 miles in 4 days but it was the best way to experience the city. There is a 24hr carrefour just around the perimeter of the colosseum which we found very useful. Regarding getting from the airport we used a taxi company ‘Welcome pickups’ - flat rate of €48 to city centre - absolutely excellent service - pleasant drivers, clean cars and for 4 people cheaper than the train and no hassle, would definitely recommend giving them a look. Leaving the house every day to see the coliseum silhouetted against the sky took our breath away every time. The building with its courtyard was lovely. Guards at the door a bit disconcerting, but friendly. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and bathrooms were nice.
