This stunning vacation paradise has everything you could ask for in a Hatteras Island vacation retreat. Just thirty feet from the Pamlico Sound, GONE WITH THE WIND sits on over an acre of land with well over 300 feet of pristine sound frontage. This home was designed to offer the best of all worlds for those who stay here. It is a windsurfing, kiting and family vacation paradise! A rigging area and ample storage add to this home's quick reputation as one of the best Hatteras sporting enthusiast's homes available. GONE WITH THE WIND is surrounded by water on two sides and is one of the only homes on the island with a cove. You'll have a huge yard for outside activities, access to the beach (a short walk to the end of the street across Hwy 12), and multiple decks to enjoy one of the best sunset views on the island. Additionally, there's a game room with pool table. This home has six bedrooms three of which are masters (including the stunning master suite on the top floor). A "kid room" with two bunks shares a bath with a spacious bedroom (king sized bed). The other bedroom has a king bed and is located on the first floor down the hall from the game room. There's laundry on the mid-level, an airy screened porch for afternoon snacks on the top level, and the grand, livable top floor great room gives you such a spectacular view that you'll think you are on your own, private cruise ship. With the new Jug Handle Bridge recently opened the once-busy road has been emptied of through traffic, making the route to the beach that much easier! This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle. This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness. If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location. Absolutely loved that it was dog friendly. Unfortunately with COVID there were ALOT of basic stuff left out. Nothing to clean up with, only one roll of toilet paper left for 4 bathrooms? Ridiculous. And I will never book a home like this through VRBO and pay an extra fee just to book and then be immediately turned over to the local real estate agency. Beautiful area, very comfy house. But you better bring everything else you need! This was not what I expected when I rented the home. The view and peace of the sound was interrupted. Luckily for us, our 30 somethings brought speakers capable of cancelling some of the noise. ##### Nancy R. But Renter Beware they are building the Jug Handle Bridge out in front of this house The Pile Driving and Construction Noise during the week was Insane !!! After Saving for over 2 years for this Vacation I was only Refunded a very small portion ?? If I would of known this I would of Passed On this Property and would of looked elsewhere . ##### Don L.
