This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle. This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness. If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location. We stay in vrbo’s almost every other month for short vacations and this was the best greeting we’ve ever had. There was a basket waiting for us with fresh eggs, and a large assortment of snacks. The family here goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. We only saw them once but they were very prompt to answer any texts with questions about the area or where to find things. The only thing that could be slightly improved would be the television for relaxing at night after a long day at the beach. Great place, great hosts. ##### Michael C.
