This is a wonderful house perfect for the family getaway. Located in a quiet and freindly neighborhood, just 3 blocks,with easy access, to the beach! Enjoy fishing and crabbing in Garibaldi. Depending on the season you can buy fresh bottom fish, salmon and crabs there too!! The house has 2 bedrooms. The first with a new queen bed, and the second with a full and twin bed. A roll away bed and sofa bed are available if more beds are required. A washer and dryer in the utility room comes in handy if too many clothes get dirty at the beach. The kitchen comes with silverware, chinaware, rice cooker, coffeemaker, microwave, and toaster. The house is recently painted inside and outside. The house comes with a TV, DVD player ,a variety of video movies, and board games in the by closet. A beautiful deck in the back is perfect for lounging on warm evenings. A charcoal barbecue grill is provided for outdoor grilling. The place was clean and tidy. The large bed was comfortable. One issue that may not be the fault of the owners: On entering the driveway, you go over a culvert, and there's a bad dip in the gravel on each side of the culvert, causing the bottom of the car to scrape every time. We enjoy reading, but lighting is a challenge. There are no lights in the comfy-seating area, so at night the recliner and other chair are in relative darkness. The kitchen is well-lighted by a fluorescent fixture that comes on only if one flicks the light switch just right. Both bedrooms and the bathroom were missing some bulbs. There is a wood stove, kindling and wood provided, but no matches. Kitchen appliances, for example glass-top range, were fine, although the microwave was tricky: it has to be unplugged or it won't let the door open. There are literally hundreds of DVDs and videotapes, but the instructions provided are wrong, and we never were able to watch any of them, even though I'm a pretty good tech guy and spent over an hour trying. (I've asked the hosts to update the instructions.) There were no books or magazines to read, other than tourist guides. ##### Charles K. We booked for 2 nights, arrived after dark Monday night to a very hot musty smelling house, and feeling like I stepped into the 60's as far as the furniture. I turned off the heat and opened all windows for circulation. I was hoping with the alleged short walk to the beach to head out quickly while boys were sleeping. It's 2 blocks to main intersection then 2 blocks over. Arrived back at house, turn on lights and notice ants. Not only were they trailing up the wall to the window in the family room, they were on the bedside table in master and a few had hopped onto the bed, and also in the other bedroom. Between the ants and no functioning microwave, (I got away from home to rest and not cook) we left a day early. Now, I'm attempting to get partially reimbursed for the night we did not stay, VRBO is telling me the host told VRBO their cleaning lady gave me ant traps and spray. I don't think any more words are needed to summarize the hassle booking with this host has caused me. Our quick 2 night get away ended after one night and back to Portland it was. I have occasional ants in my own property, weather dependent and extra rain pushed them in.. but in my sheets? That's how bad they were. We would not recommend staying in this dated musty not the cleanest property ##### Melinda b. It was easy to get to only two blocks off of the main highway. The house was laid out nicely there was plenty of room and we had everything that we needed and it even had a 65 inch TV I was impressed. I have been to Rockaway Beach before and stayed at other places and the location of this house was perfect for me to go to all my favorite places. Needed a central location for hiking south and north. Near the main "strip" (my daughter and I walked to it one evening) and beach. Beautiful beach. The house was comfortable. It's a beach house so make sure you come well stocked. There was very little in the fridge in terms of staples as well as dry goods. We have stayed at many VRBOs and this was the most limited. As well as bathroom staples. It was just a minor thing but note that.Unfortunately, it was not the cleanest VRBO on arrival (and we stay at a lot). There was hair in the tub and it just didn't seem like a cleaning crew came through. We are very low maintenance so it was no big deal. Overall, I would recommend the property ##### laura a. It was the accommodation we needed to enjoy the coast affordably. Nothing fancy but there were loads of movies. We spent most of the time walking the beach and the nature boardwalk. Unfortunately the house is struggling with ants—I only saw a few while we were there but they got into our clothing bags in the bedroom and we brought some home. ##### Jennifer L.
