Surrounded by 20 acres of lawns and fields, a few chickens and cows. Hot dry summers and snowy winters. You will have a two bedroom one bath home with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Full kitchen with fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Tiny wood stove in the kitchen for extra coziness. Master bedroom looks out onto the river from attached deck. Perfect place for morning coffee. Second bedroom has a double and a double/twin bunkbed. Living room has two comfy modern sofas, TV , radio, board games and books. Netflix and WiFi available. Rent Kayaks or canoe or floats to float down the Kettle River in summer. Quiet and peaceful. We are hobby farmers who grow our own naturally raised cattle, garden and chickens for eggs. A dozen eggs will be waiting in the fridge for you. There is a barbeque, firepit and outside table and chairs for relaxing after a full day. We are 45 minutes away from some of the best wineries. I counted 44 bird species from the back deck, which overlooks the beautiful Kettle River. We swam in the river, played golf at the excellent course nearby, cycled the rail trail across the river, and canoed in Jewel Lake. The cottage is absolutely clean, and utterly charming. The house and location is absolutely breathtaking. The chickens that walk around during the day are adorable and the cows that are occasionally seen in the field is a lovely surprise. The float down the river is super relaxing and there is a lovely mix of sun and shade so there is no chance of overheating. From the property there is also the option to do a crisp morning dip into the river to start your day. The home exceeded our expectations and was updated and very very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs that we’re waiting for us upon our arrival. Our kids had an absolute blast with the chickens! The owners also had a small inflatable pool set up with some water toys for them to play with, and a small tricycle which even our older kids had fun with. Us adults enjoyed our morning coffees (and peace & quiet) on the back deck overlooking the river. The river was a refreshing way to cool off from the heat in the afternoons. This was our first time visiting the Rock Creek area and we had a lot of fun exploring what the area had to offer. We spent some time in Greenwood on the playground as well. The playground zipline was the main attraction for them! We will 100% be back and next time hope to extend our visit beyond just a weekend. Thanks again for your hospitality Debbie & Lanny! The river was perfect for a relaxing and refreshing tube float and swim. The kids loved the chickens, hens and turkeys! We are sad we only discovered Rock Creek Trading Post on the last day, very delicious food and coffee! Lanny and Debbie were great hosts and we were impressed with how clean the cottage was. We wil be back!
