In addition to the palace the complex includes a basilica, a convent, a school, a library, and a pantheon. While El Escorial is impressive from the outside, we actually found it a little austere on the inside. In many ways it felt more like a fine art museum than a typically elaborate European palace (such as Versailles). That said, there are some impressive sights, including works by El Greco, Bernini, and Giardini. The library was also quite beautiful, with richly carved wood shelves, a marble floor, and a colorful fresco ceiling by Pellegrino Tibaldi. For me, the highlight of the tour was the 180ft long (55m) Hall of Battles – a barrel-vaulted room where the walls were completely covered in frescos depicting Spain's military victories over the Moors and the French. All aspects of the battle field were portrayed (when you have 180ft, that is quite doable), and the artist employed an interesting trick whereby the more distant, smaller scenes were less saturated, and the background mountains and landscape were set in hues of blue. The villa was fabulous, the games room and pool are fantastic, well equipped and kept us all entertained throughout the day and night. The villa was pristinely clean on arrival, bathrooms, kitchens, bbq area - all spotless. Galyna, the owner is one of the nicest people we have ever met, so kind, generous and attentive, she was always available if we needed any information. What our wonderful hosts, Anatoliy and Gala added to our holiday was immeasurable. Nothing was too much trouble - we were collected from the airport right at the arrival gate and dropped back outside departures. Every day Anatoliy enquirer as to where we wished to go and no trip was a problem. He was there to pick us up at exactly the arranged times, often making 2 or 3 trips per day. If we were stuck for ideas, Anatoliy and Gala went above and beyond to ensure we could get groceries (even showing us how to check in a pineapple was fresh!!). They realised that th8s area of Spain was very special and sentimental to our mother and surprised her with extra trips to the areas of special significance, the accommodation perfectly suited our needs with a kitchen able to easily prepare food for 7 adults. Bedrooms were clean and tidy and the pool area was spotless with ample sun beds. What elevated this break from wonderful to exceptional was the readily available private transport and the warm, generous caring personalities of Gala and Anatoliy. Acabamos de legal a Casa después de unas vacaciones maravillosas en Robledo de Chavela....7 personas de viahe celebrando un cumpleaños especial. Nuestra experiencia del principio al final era totalmente perfecta....lo que hizo tan excepcional eran nuestros anfitriones, Gala y Anatoliy. Hicieron tanto para nosotros, now cogieron en el Aeropuerto y no’s devolvieron allí el último día. Cada día Anatoliy no’s preguntó adónde quisimos ir. No’s llevó a cualquier sitio que nos gustara y nos cogió a la hora planeada a veces haciendo 2 om3 viajes cada día. Nos Surgieron sitios adonde ir y nos llevó al supermercado a hacker las compras ( aun mostrándonos cómo comprobar si una piña estaba fresca o no). Se dieron cuenta de que esa región de España era especial y de mucha importancia para nuestra madre y nos sorprendieron con aun más viajes. La cocina de la Casa tenía una cocina apt’s para 7 personas. Lots dormitorios estaban limpios y la parte alrededor de la piscina estaba inmaculada. Lo que hizo toda la experiencia tan excepcional eran Gala y Anatoliy que eran tan amables, generosos y personas bondadosas. ##### Maria O. Oct 25, 2018 #### EXCELENTE Un fin de semana inmejorable, la casa la cogimos por ser acorde al número de persona y por que estaba cerca de Madrid pero nos a ha sorprendido muy gratamente. La casa perfecta, equipada con todo(cocina, toallas, mantas). La barbacoa con techo, sala de juegos, chimenea. Al lado de la naturaleza, zona muy tranquila se duerme de maravilla. Lastima que fuimos en época que ya no podíamos utilizar la piscina pero repetiremos en verano. El trato y la atención no nos ha faltado en ningún momento. Hemos estado como en nuestra casa. Daba mucha lluvia para el fin de semana y nos techaron la barbacoa para poder disfrutarla. La casa muy completa por lo que pasamos un buen fin de semana. Muy recomwndable. Sep 23, 2018 #### Un sitio para repetir La atención de los propietarios desde que contactas con ellos es maravillosa, su atención y buen trato con nosotros es igualmente trasladable a la casa, está cuenta con todos el equipamiento y detalles para una magnifica estancia. Hemos pasado el fin de semana un grupo numeroso y hemos estado muy a gusto por la capacidad de estancias que ofrece la casa, comiendo todos fuera en el porche techado disfrutando de la barbacoa, tomando algo en la terraza y refrescándonos en la piscina. Por último, la zona donde mejores ratos hemos pasado (bueno junto a la piscina) es de la sala de abajo que como se ve en las fotos cuenta con mucho espacio y muchas distracciones. Mar 5, 2018 #### Maravillosa experiencia Fuimos un grupo de 10 amigos a pasar el fin de semana a la sierra, y nos decidimos por esta casa. Para empezar, el trato con la dueña fue inmejorable, nos dio todas las facilidades en cuanto a pagos, datos sobre la casa, el lugar, el transporte o cualquier tipo de duda que tuvieramos y en cualquier momento. La casa es impresionante y está muy bien cuidada y limpia, impoluta. Está totalmente equipada, además de otros complementos que dejaron los dueños para nuestro uso y disfrute. Fue una experiencia de los más agradable y se lo recomendaría a cualquier grupo de personas, ya sean amigos, familias o incluso con niños. Llegamos el sábado por la mañana antes de lo esperado y no hubo ningún problema en que se desplazaran. La casa es maravillosa, todo estaba genial cuando nos lo encontramos y el trato con los propietarios de la casa fue perfecto. La camas son muy cómodas y no pasamos ningún frío con la chimenea y la calefacción encendidas.
