This cabin offers an incredible water and mountain view with private access and a private dock. Key Features: Stunning Views: Enjoy panoramic views of Fontana Lake and the Smoky Mountains from the cabin. Private Dock: Access the lake easily with our private dock, perfect for boating, fishing, or relaxing by the water. ATV Access: Use our Honda side-by-side ATV to reach the dock or enjoy an invigorating hike down to the lake. Our dock was expanded in 2021, features a private waterslide and sun deck, ideal for family fun. Pontoon Boat Rental: Rent our 2019 Sylvan pontoon with a 90 hp Yamaha outboard to explore Fontana Lake and access trails in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Remote and Scenic: Located in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, approximately 65 miles from Gatlinburg, 86 miles from Asheville, and 22 miles from Bryson City. Nearby Activities: Close to whitewater rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, mountain biking at Tsali Recreation Center, fishing, hiking, and scenic drives like the Tail of the Dragon (Hwy 129) and Moonshiner 28 (Hwy 28) and the Cherohala Skyway! Access: The cabin is located at the end of a 2-mile hard-packed gravel road. Drive slowly and be prepared to pull over for oncoming traffic. There is a neighborhood security gate at the end of the 2-mile gravel road. Codes will be shared 1 week before arrival. Trash Policy: Please do not leave trash outside to avoid attracting wildlife. Lazy Elk is 4-5 miles from the nearest through road. The last two miles are on a well maintained gravel driveway. This guarantees privacy and quiet. We spent hours on the deck without hearing a man made sound (except for occasional hot tub and air conditioning). At night we counted satellites and watched shooting stars. Mornings we watched the clouds form and rise right in front of us. At first we had trouble slowing down to natures pace but by the end of our stay we were ready for another week. The dock is fun but it is a steep winding trail to get there. The ATV is a must. The only negative is it does takes a while to get to hiking trails. We hiked Lake Santeela Lake Nantahala and various hikes in the Smokey Mountains and it was always 45-75 minutes. We really liked the upgrades to the back deck and the dock. The views are great and everything in the home was comfortable. We really enjoyed the pontoon. The cabin was wonderful with amazing views of the lake and mountains. The cabin was furnished beautifully and stocked with everything we needed. It was comfortable and charming. The best part was it was decorated for Christmas with a tree and stockings hung on the fireplace. It was the perfect place for my family to enjoy Christmas and get some well-deserved downtime. The hosts were easy to work with and communicated very well. I would highly recommend this cabin. We can't wait to go back in the summer! ##### Michelle D. It was clean, and the view of Fontana Lake was beautiful. Our particular GPS kept misdirecting us to the road, but thankfully some kind locals actually showed us the way. The bed slept like heaven, i love the Christmas decorations and we didn’t expect to see them. The location is amazing and theres so much to do at the cabin everyone enjoyed and hung out on the deck. Owner was very responsive to the small issues that arised. The cabin is absolutely stunning, and the view is unreal how beautiful it is!! Boat rental went smoothly and SO fun! There is everything you could hope for and more right there-gas fire pit, pool table, ladder golf, dinner table, hot tub, and more with a swing set a few steps below. It is remote and that's what we like about it. ATV provided for trip down to the dock and we rented owner's pontoon boat which was so much fun. The view cannot be beat, pool table a plus, we cooked all our meals and did not lack for anything. Owners are very responsive and a plumbing problem was fixed same day as call made. Stunning views, great location/dock for all sorts of water activities (really enjoyed the kayaking), and the house had everything you could possibly want. Plus the host is amazing! Amy and Eric were such a pleasure to work with. The gravel road to the property is well maintained and extremely secluded. The use of the ATV was very appreciated, and the use of the pontoon boat was the cherry on top. We were able to see a bear swimming in the lake! The town of Robbinsville is one of the friendliest I have been to. There is not one bad thing to say! Off the beaten path you are assured of peace and quiet. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen equipment, paper and cleaning supplies and more than enough entertainment to keep teenagers away from their iPhones for the majority of the days/nights. The views from the cabin and dock area are breathtaking! The pontoon boat, kayaks and water slide were a huge hit for our group and the hike back and forth from the cabin to the dock was plenty of exercise.
