Enjoy an evening beverage on the screened-in porch, or relax in the morning with a cup of coffee on the private patio. Those with mobility concerns can take advantage of the elevator for easy access from the parking lot. For fun in the sun amenities, the upper “sun deck” and lower floating deck offer wonderful spots to soak up the sunshine, cool off in the lake with a swim, drop in a line for some of Virginia’s finest freshwater fishing (large and smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, perch, and sunfish), or launch a canoe or paddleboard to explore a nearby cove. Rent a boat and spend the day skiing, tubing, or fishing \[No overnight docking, but docking/trailer storage facilities are located nearby\]. Dining and other activities are just a short car ride (or an even shorter jaunt in a boat) away. Smith Mountain Lake State Park is on the other side of the channel and Smith Mountain Lake Community Park is less than 5 miles away. Both have wonderful beaches, hiking, and more! Smith Mountain Lake (aka Jewel of the Blue Ridge) is one of the largest, cleanest freshwater lakes east of the Mississippi. They go above and beyond to provide resources suggesting activities, restaurants and attractions and more. All TV 's are loaded with multiple streaming services to relax at night with a movie. It was clean and supplied with everything we needed for a weekend at the lake. I especially appreciated the linens. The sheets fit the mattresses and did not pop off all night. The towels were large, thick and absorbent. The kitchen was well organized and had high quality equipment. We were surprised with the basket of little snacks. Small things like that made this rental stand apart from others. The view cannot be beat. My 88 year old mother was able to enjoy the lake even though she is limited in her mobility. It is nicely decorated, comfortable and well stocked with all the necessary things. The location was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening, We found it to be very peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely be returning! The only issue we had was the heat of the week we were there (July 8-12). The daily temps were in the high 90's and one day it was 101! The condo was very warm in the evenings, upper 70's.
