Food was really nice! Pools were nice, could have used more food areas to eat around the beach and pools especially for families. Few safety issues a lot of low lighting, no lights, burnt out bulbs. Phones in rooms didn’t work. Door locks didn’t work. Spent about 16 hours away from family trying to deal with being locked out of room or locked in bathroom. Hot tub didn’t work. A lot of animal waste around. Beautiful beach, unorganized check in, stayed in a lot of places but this was one of the worst with customer service or concern for your comfort and safety

If you’re not a timeshare royal elite member don’t bother booking here. You get limited access to beach, dining and pools. The nicest parts are not for you so not worth the money. The family beach area was dirty with garbage and toys and cans but the other areas we didn’t have access to were pristine. It felt like we didn’t matter and the staff treat you as such with the blue family bracelet. Drinks were horrible unless you like sickly sweet and syrupy. I couldn’t even get a decent margarita, ended up drinking tequila soda, boring. Food is meh, and couldn’t find a pico de gallo or salsa or proper guacamole anywhere. Very disappointing, will never book again .

Staff is there there promptly if need anything and they are very kind. The food and variety of Restaurants is excellent. Very clean pools, beautiful and clean beaches and the nightly shows were excellent.

Beautiful and well kept grounds. The staff were very friendly and always said, hello/hola! Experienced 4 out 5 of the a la carte dining options and they were all good. Large resort with shuttles to dining and beach area, but also beautiful to walk and see the gardens and get lots of exercise. Lots of loungers available at the beach with both sun and shade options. There was both entertainment and activities during the day at the beach and a nightly show. The staff were all very enthusiastic and really look like they enjoy their jobs. I would highly recommend Sandos Playacar Beach Resort.

We loved our king bed & bunkbed room! The balcony looked out over the family pool And my kids (ages 7&8) loved the water slide options at the family pool! It was nice returning to the family pool after a day at the beach- half the pool is shaded.

Very beautiful resort but some things weren’t great. For instance, I called before going to make dinner reservations and you can’t do that until you check in and then all the reservations were taken so we had to eat at the buffet every night. Also, they have people trying to sell you spa packages and time share type things which is super annoying. We were swimming in the pool and I had to actually tell a guy to leave us alone quite sternly because he asked us 3 times to come to the spa and then just stood over us. Immediately after a woman came and asked us. People go on vacation to enjoy themselves. That wasn’t enjoyable. It began at check in and I was saying I was tired and hungry and they were forcing me to agree to come to some time share thing the next morning. I then was like, “we just want to go relax in our room and eat” and we woke up to a letter under our door saying to meet that man at 10am.. I would have no issue paying a little more for this resort if they left us alone! It’s beautiful! Raise your prices so you don’t need to harass people haha I would happily pay them!

This application is the only way to make reservations and depends exclusively on the guests and how they manage their reservations prior to check-in.In addition, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies if at any time you perceived that the Vacation Club and Spa staff was a bit pushy in inviting you to participate in a chat. Part of their job is to extend the invitation so that guests are aware of our vacation program and can take advantage of the benefits it offers.We understand that it can be difficult to identify all the guests who have already been invited due to the constant turnover of people. We had 19 people with us and none of us could ever get into a restaurant. There were no openings the entire 5 days for parties of 2?? The shows were mediocre and the buffet was okay. The beach was nice but no one coming around to take drink orders. It was a nice place but needs some upgrades and better services.

We have several restaurants on our premises, but due to high demand and our commitment to quality service, seating is designed for smaller groups, generally up to 6 people together. In addition, we set a maximum number of people per time slot to ensure that we can provide optimal service and maintain reasonable wait times for food preparation.We understand that this policy may have complicated your attempts to make reservations at our restaurants. We appreciate your feedback and will evaluate our reservation system to make improvements to ensure it is more accessible and convenient for our customers in the future.We regret that the shows did not live up to your expectations. Both the live singers and dancers do their best and we always receive the best feedback on their performance.We also regret that you did not have the opportunity to meet our waiters on the beach. We will review our procedures to ensure that they regularly pass through the entire beach area and are always on hand to assist you.Regarding improvements, we would like to inform you that since we are surrounded by a jungle, humidity can be a factor. We strive to prevent this from affecting the rooms by filtering the air in all rooms. The property is huge. We walked 3-5 miles a day with kids and an elderly mother. Part of us stayed in a hacienda and part in the family hotel section. The bad part is the reservations for alternate dining. We only got in two reservations for only 2 of us out of 11, no matter how we tried. Did not know what the gold bands meant to my husband and I or where we could go with them, not explained. And the grandkids staying in our hacienda had blue. Didnt make sense to let us go one way and not the kids. The beach was awesome and overall the family vacation was good. There will always be some downfalls.

Awesome beach with great swimming which gets quieter as you walk away from the craziness of Playa Del Carmen. Dated room, but clean and the beds very comfortable. The food is very mediocre and by then end we just ate at the buffet, but we’ve come to expect this at all inclusive. The pickle ball, courts, and the tennis courts were super fun! And we love the mini golf course through the jungle. We found the staff to be friendly and very accommodating. Room service arrived. Quickly, our room was cleaned very well anytime we wanted and the bartenders at the pool were efficient and make good drinks. I appreciated the prompt, efficient service that wasn’t too overly friendly in your face.

This is an all-inclusive resort. Nobody told us that the 5 restaurants on site required reservations. All of those reservations were booked the entire week the day we arrived. We were forced to eat at the same boring buffet day in and day out. This information should’ve been shared prior to our arrival. At least then we could’ve made reservations ahead of time. We were able to get in on a couple of cancellations, but this was a major dissatisfier. The concierge was unhelpful and provided little guidance and assistance with anything we needed help with. Also, the Expedia employee meant to give us our shuttle pass back to the airport was rude and unhelpful. I will never return to this resort with so many other great options to choose from.

The property was larger than expected. Although they did have transportation which was great for those with limited mobility. A disappointed we had was that the kids & family pool did not have a view of the ocean. The trees were grown up over top so you could not see the water. It would have been nice to have a view from those pools.

Beautiful beach, food is ok, Mexican restaurant is excellent. Big resort so be prepared to walk but lots of room by the pools so don’t have to fight for chairs. Beds are really hard.

Food is limited buffets and getting a reservation for a group bigger that 2-3 for the restaurants is ridiculous. Be aware that unless you only care to eat buffet, thus is not your regular all inclusive. I’ve been to many with only having 1-2 of the restaurants needing reservations. Every one of them require it and you can only book it through there app. Only resort to that we have been to with “all inclusive” which is limited to buffets and cupcakes bar, taco bar. Calling for room service was a joke. Took over 30-40 mins for them to answer. Again room service is limited to 5 items only to order.

The resort was nice enough, the food was good. Some areas are older and could renovating but overall pretty well kept. Even with the shuttle, if you stay in the family section its lots of walking. Its in a safe gated community which is nice because you can leave the resort and explor the local area. The beach is a 10/10! Id give it a 4/5 stars for sure.

The resort was very nice overall. Rooms were well taken care of. Lots of wildlife. The property is very large and not easily walkable, about 10-15 minutes to each destination ie. main buffet, beach, spa etc. (we stayed in the family section) there is a shuttle but it’s inconvenient to wait for and then goes in a loop so even if you just want to go to the beach you have to wait until it’s gone through all the stops to get there as it is the last stop. It is well equipped for children and elderly other than this.

This property was amazing for kids. They seemed to have great areas for adults too, but I was traveling with kids. It’s expansive and there was plenty to do. Playacar seems to be a safe gated community with several resorts and homes. Food was great! I would go back!
