Hotel Luna Llena is truly a boutique hotel. Small, quiet and unique. The breakfasts were simple but the coffee was good and the fresh fruit plentiful. I loved the bikes available for use and found I could get most places in town by bike. The staff for friendly and very helpful. I greatly enjoyed my stay there.

The check in is at 4pm. Almost everywhere else it is at 3pm. I called early to let them know I would arrive at 3pm and if it was possible to check in at that time. They told me if the room was ready and if there was someone available to let me in that I could check in. I arrived and there was no one there. There were only construction workers. Check in was easy. The room was clean. Did look like the picture. Good working AC. Fast wifi. The beds are not comfortable, and the pillows were not comfortable either. There is a bit of an odd smell to the room, it could be the humidity, a little bit of cigarette perhaps. There is no drinking water provided. BRING YOUR OWN DRINKING WATER TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH!! The water from the sink tastes disgusting. There is construction on the property. They start working at 8am. We woke up to a jackhammer right outside our window. There are 4 available parking spots. Usually we found a spot available but a few times we did have to park on the road. The hotel is situated outside of town on a dirt road. There is a ton of construction going on but the hotel did feel very safe. The pool is beautiful. They offer a nice breakfast that was simple and filling. We were hardly at the hotel so it provided us with what we needed. A nice hot shower and air conditioned room. For the price it is worth it. Personally however I will not stay here again.

Cuando llegamos no había nadie en recepción, estuvimos tocando un rato hasta que una huésped nos abrió, nos dejaron la llave en el escritorio y a buscar la habitación, limpio eso si, el desayuno pobre la vd y el club de playa si llevas niños también es un tema pues el de recepción no avisó que íbamos... creo que por ese precio hay mejores opciones

Our room did not like look like the pictures ,it was a lower grade room when we got there, which was fine since we only spent 3 nights . Bathroom was good and ac worked great. However our bed headboard was very loose anytime you made the slightest move sleeping it made loud noise against the wall . Service was great.

My boyfriend and I came for one night and stayed for 5. We loved our stay here, 10/10. Everything was CLEAN, safe, hot water, and the people were so nice!!! I highly recommend staying here. It’s very private, as well as quiet. Looking forward to returning again.

GREAT LITTLE HOTEL! FRIENDLY STAFF AND GREAT SERV.
This hotel is small but really nice. It is really clean and staff was amazing. Lucero who is in front desk was great. She has all the local knowledge to recommend places to eat and beaches to go to. She did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast could be better but for price its ok. If we visited Tulum again we would stay here again because of staff and cleanliness of rooms. AC worked great - room was always cold. Our son enjoyed the pool and since we were only guests we were allowed to swim past pool hours .

Staff, cleanliness, and property were all great. That is why my rating is almost excellent the only request and concern I would have to say I have for the hotel is that, they should add a mini fridge, hair dryer, and a small table. At least in the room I stayed in which was a queen bed for 2 people it didn’t have this. Aside from that I had a wonderful time in Tulum and my stay with Luna Llena was better than expected.

The hotel was cute, quaint and located just off the main drag of the shops in Tulum. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the bikes to ride into town as I rented a car but I imagine that the ride would not take long. If you're looking for a spot to just crash while out partying and don't mind a hard bed, then this would work. Just be sure to lock up your luggage or take your valuables as I came back one evening to my personal items laid out on the floor and bed as if someone had been searching for something. Luckily I took my laptop and valuables with me and only left inexpensive items at the hotel.

Outskirts of tulum.
Great find at 4am after having just landed in Canun international. Arrived at property 730 and veen though reservation was made after hours and no one at reception we were fortunate enough to be given a room. Room was great, property is nice and peaceful. Would stay here in the future. Friendly staff.

The hotel was great and very comfortable. The bikes were in great condition and always available. Unfortunately there was construction around the hotel so it was noisy through the day time.

Great spot off the main road
This was a lovely little condo style hotel located just outside of town but easily within biking distance (which were supplied by the hotel free of charge). The rooms were pretty basic but had their own private balconies and the property was very safe & secure. The manager Lucrecia was wonderful, helped me confirm my shuttle, leant me a charger and offered great recommendations for food & attractions in town. Great spot if you want to stay in Tulum town but off the main drag.

Nice boutique hotel
A very good hotel in Tulum. The only inconvenience is that it is quite far from the town centre and you really need a car to go to the restaurants, bars, shops and beach. It is an up coming area and in a few years it will be different.

The hotel staff is very friendly and they are very helpful.The rooms are clean and they maintain very well.The location is far from the tulum ruins but you will get a taxi to reach there for a decent price.Overall my experience with the hotel is very good for the price that I have paid.

nice hotel off the road or strip
Very pretty hotel once you go inside . however the road getting there is very bumpy and holes everwhere. ( you would think the hotel would invest in a little stone on the road to make getting to the hotel easyer). the beds were clean and soft. the pillows could use an upgrade. love the dacor of the hotel. would go back again anytime...

Nice place
There was construction next door when we were here and they were using a jack hammer starting at about 7am. The place is nice, clean and comfortable. Staff is nice and we felt safe.

Very nice, modern hotel but neighborhood is under lots of construction and road quality is poor. Sure this will change over time. Bike included in reservation is very helpful to get into town so you don't have to drive. The staff was great, and balcony over the small pool view was very nice. Continental Breakfast was very convenient, included with local fruit, coffee, tea, patries, toast, and cereal.

I spent two nights there. Everything was excellent. The room has everything you need. A/C, fan, safe and big plus beach towels. No minifridge though but I didn't care. The bed was more than a king size. Huge The thing you need to be aware is that is a bit far from downtown. Nothing crazy. We had the car and didn't mind. They give you free bikes but I wouldn't recommend reaching town at night with poor lights... Overall great value for money in my view. Staying downtown is 40% more.

Cute place.
The hotel itself is nice enough. The location is a little outside of the city's main area but is a comfortable stroll away. The nearby streets are pretty rough and construction can block certain directions.

The hotel was nice, it was clean, and comfortable enough. It was small, but nice. They have a pretty nice pool there which we didn't get to try out. The hotel staff was nice and showed us to the nearest store, which was pretty far away. My only complaint isn't about the hotel itself, it's about getting there. The hotel is located on the outer limits of the city and the roads over there are not paved, they're only gravel and there are HUGE potholes everywhere! It took us an extra long time to get anywhere due to this. If you don't have a car and don't mind the long walk this place will be great for you.

Great value in town and great staff.
We booked the Luna Llena in a last minute jam when we arrived to Tulum a day early and found the whole beach booked. The Luna Llena is very clean, peaceful, and the staff is amazing and helpful. Great bathroom, cute balcony with sitting area, coffee and breakfast in the morning. My best advice so you're not disappointed is to think of it as a nice, clean pension rather than expecting all the amenities of a hotel. It's in a part of town with an unpaved road (like most of the area)so don't let the rural nature of the surroundings intimidate you. It was a great value and I would stay there again.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff were amazing anf so helpful as we spoke practically no soanish. Although the hotel was located far away from restaurants etc the staff were so helpful about where to eat and what to do etc, and they have free bikes to use! Overall great stay!

Just you have to know its far from the beach and covered in woods(far from downtown,either) If you are to travel without vehicle, you have to use a taxi every time you want to go out Except for that, it's a perfect place, especially when you consider the price

Loved Luna Llena!
This was our first trip to Mexico and we had a great time! Francesca and Roberto are fantastic people and gave us a lot of helpful info. English is not their first language as they are Italian, but Francesca did a great job :-) Their staff Jose and Aurora were always friendly and kept the place running well. Our room was cleaned every day and the air conditioning worked 100% (We went when it was 34degrees and 100% humidity lol) It's a few minutes out of town but a taxi will get you into town for 30-40 pesos and you'll appreciate the quiet location.

La publicidad es engañosa, parecía una buena opción pero no nos gustó, nos asignaron una animación en 3er piso y no hay elevador a demás que la escalera es súper angosta fue muy complicado subir y bajar el equipaje, en la habitación se escuchan los ruidos del exterior, por lo cual no pudimos descansar, la TV es súper pequeña, la regadera como una especie de cabina afuera del baño, el agua de la alberca se veía opaca como sucia, los estacionientis son en la calle, no me pareció una zona segura, la persona que nos atendió muy seco poco amigable, el lugar queda lejísimos de la zona de restaurantes

La habitación muy bien y bonita peero la cama muy dura y no habia secadora de cabello, el auto se quedo afuera y me lo rayaron y las calles sin pavimentar con muchos charcos pero creo que eso es general en la ciudad
