The property overall is pretty good from outside to the entry and to the spa. However, the hotel room itself is very disappointing! The carpet is dirty and dust is all around the furniture. The bathroom is small. The room feel like a motel room. Not enough towels.

Toilet did not flush and backed up 3 times No fan in the bathroom The phone in the room did no work. Check in . Need more Staff at the conceirge desk are excellent Breakfast second rate. Pool resturant staff very good

I love this hotel. The staff was great. The private beach was beautiful but the locals on the beach were extremely irritating. Every minute or two they try to sell you something. These people will not take no for an answer. I was so fed up I left and went by the pool. Luckily they can’t come on to the actual property. The pool was nice and if you are in the mood for a late night snack be sure to try one of the restaurants located on the property. The pizzas are amazing and made fresh to order. I believe there are a total of 26 floors. My guest & I were located on the 19th floor with a partial ocean view which was beautiful. Also the hotel is at least 30 minutes away from the airport but that’s okay because it’s worth the drive. The hotel is located in Leblon & not Copacabana beach. However, Copacabana is literally minutes away from Leblon. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the shopping mall & surrounding neighborhoods but not to the airport nor will they pick you up. I did over hear someone mention that there were maybe a 3rd party company connected to the hotel that will pick up from the airport as a round trip but it was pricey. Stick with an Uber. It’s safe & it was under 20 bucks for a 30 minute drive. Please don’t get caught up with the cab drivers because hey will lie & tell you that Ubers are dangerous and you can get in trouble. I believe they use this a tactic to take your money and keep you from using an Uber. Find me on Instagram @kaylerlynette

The Sheraton Rio was a luxury experience from beginning to end. Gorgeous views, exceptional amenities, and a warm, friendly staff made our stay memorable in the best way.

Very expensive hotel with low quality services in a dangerous area of Rio. For the price they charge you, you can go for 2 weeks all inclusive in the Caribbean. I have to switch rooms 3 times one night I couldn’t sleep because the pillows had a bad smell. It seems like they don’t change the bedding when people leave. Also, cleaning is not a thing there you need to ask for to bring new dishes, change bedding, etc. I won’t be back there. The hotel seems pretty on the pictures but it’s not. The only good thing is close by the beach but it’s shared with locals. It’s dangerous to the point they lift the stairs that connects to the beach at 6pm and you can’t go from this time until 8 or 9am. Overall I rate this hotel as 2 starts with poor quality service. The rooms are outdated and smell bad. Overall in the area smells bad to the point that I didn’t want to be there.

It was amazing, the hotel is beautiful with a great location, staff was amazing, food was great so were the drinks! Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. I give it a 5 star!!!!!!! The pool area was very nice and it had a private beach, the view from the hotel was beautiful.

How about this? Hotels.com. says they are pet friendly, they are NOT! They are small dog friendly. Windsor and Hilton are pet friendly! We found this out too late to cancel!!! Bad coffee, come on this is Brazil, no excuse! The blow drier in the bathroom should be cleaned once in a while . We ordered baguette. Sandwiches sans meat, we got club sandwiches with fried egg! That is definitely not what we ordered. The closets are too narrow for a hanger to hang straight.! If all you want is a view, go for it. But it was very disappointing to see the mold in the pool what with MRSA being a threat in 2023. There were guests using the pool that didn't seem to care. It was no small amount of mold at the shallow end and could have easily been attended to if someone cared.

Beautiful resort, vey friendly and helpful staff. Room was spacious with gorgeous views. The only draw back is that its is not a location you can walk to places...that being said, Uber, taxis and hotel transportation is readily available. Four well served restaurants within the resort, and a great breakfast buffet. It is very close to Ipanema and Leblon, two of the best areas in Rio. The resort is well known for many years, many events take place there, so can it be busy depending on event schedule.

Good Review: 1) Nice Location. One of the few beach front properties. Amazing ocean views from Executive Suite. 2) Staff very friendly and courteous. 3) Easy access to the beach. Not so Good Reviews: 1) Room services were poor. Did not deliver an in room service breakfast order, which was booked a night before. 2) Rooms need renovation. Wall plate on the plugs falling apart. Wood on the bathroom door frame is rotted. 3)Water bottle services restricted to 2 bottles per day per room. At the rate charges per night per room, there should be higher limit on water bottles per room. Restaurants charges 12 Reals per water bottle.

The Perfect Hotel for a Family Vacation in Rio!
My family (me, my wife and our 6-year old daughter) stayed 4 nights at the Sheraton Grand Rio and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel. Yes, the location and the property itself are fantastic, but their REAL strength is their SERVICE and CUSTOMER CARE. Wow!!! Everyone working there, I mean EVERYONE, is always ready to assist the guests and ALWAYS with a friendly smile and attitude. Incredible! I give them an 11 out of 10!

Location is perfect, just outside the crowded places. Near restaurants, bars and beaches. The private beach is a plus. Property is not new but has been renovated Not sure why they charge a "resort fee" sseparate, should just include it. Also the quality of what you get in the resort fee is not good, tennis rackets are useless, bikes are damaged but the private beach and pool outweights all of that

It's a great choice for a week stay in Rio, the neighborhoud is fine, actually a waled around at night and felt pretty safe. The food is fair, definitely is not a 5 star hotel food and room service is not good at all. The spa is good, a bit overprice taken into account price/service relation.
