Basic “4star hotel” . Has small ref and safe in the Family Suite room . I am at least expecting some coffee maker / electric kettle/ free 1-2 bottle water / ice bucket . None of the above . Family suite is so small , fits a king size bed and sofa bed with enough space to walk in-between. Breakfast is excellent ! We stayed 4 nights . Location is ok . Locals around and so as homeless. The building always has armed security at the lobby .

The room was poorly maintained. Dirty grout in the bathroom. Leaky toilet. They don't have enough housekeeping staff. Our room was still not cleaned when we came back after 5 PM. So, we just got fresh towels.

We stayed at Novotel in Rio aver New Years and absolutely loved it. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast every morning. 3 min walk from the beach.

We enjoy this hotel very much. The staff is great and attentive. The breakfast is very nice. We have been there 3 times for a total of 17 days and would go back without hesitation.

Hotel is a block away from a few wonderful restauraunts (Shirleys, and Boteco Belmonte). The rooftop Lounge was great get the Cod Dumplings <3. The service was a bit slow. But that’s expected literally everywhere so have patience. But otherwise everyone was patient, respectful, and willing to go above and beyond all staff I encountered. The cleaning staff was amazing they literally clean up your mess of clothes and reassemble your room. Very appreciative of their hospitality. Great first time in Rio. Would gladly consider coming back with friends.

Very Good staff but poor facilities.
Location was good. But doesn't appear to be 4 star property. Facilities were minimalistic. However staff especially the restaurant and kitchen was very helpful. I would like to specially thank Mr. Arouimedes for helping me by heating my pre cooked food.

All good. Great location. Very good breakfast. Gym is workable with an awesome view. All staff were outstanding. Leme is the beginning of that long strip of beach and road thru end of copa cabana which made it super convenient... virtually same beach experience.... more night life and upscale restaurants in Copa Cabana... but plenty of options in Leme... I'd opt to stay in Leme rathher than Copa Cabana.

Poor start, good finish
A poor start - checked in to an unprepared room at 23:00, then was taken to another room on a higher floor, which had been cleaned but was ready for a family of three, including a personalised welcome note. Finished up in a (possibly) higher class room near the top, which turned out to be quiet, clean, comfortable and pleasant. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The Sky Bar is very nice

They overbooked the hotel and after 2 hours of waiting told us they didnt have a room for us. Proceeded to tell us they were uograding us to their sister hotel 2 blocks away. Their idea of an upgrade was going from a side sea view to front sea view. We lost the king size bed, the pool, location and time. Completely unacceptable.

Nice hotel close to beach, good amenities.
Really glad we booked this hotel, it was a great stay and good value for the price. Room was pretty clean, fridge was a little janky but worked, and shower needed a bit of repair(small leak, not a big deal). Beds were decent, pillows were mediocre but kinda expect that from hotels. Linens/towels were clean. Service was very good at all points, front desk/restaurant/concierge. One block from beach and can take out 2 beach chairs and one beach umbrella per room, so that was nice to not have to rent them. Be warned that you will still tan/burn under the umbrellas, the Brazilian sun is hot! Overall great stay, would likely stay here again!

I think Novotel is the best hotel on Copacabana if you are not rich , but you want safety , cleanliness .. Breakfast is excellent , room was tastefully decorated ... Uncomfortable beds and ants in the room
We had tons of ants in our room. Asked for support, they cleaned it, yet still had more ants. Beds are uncomfortable. Lobby is cool, but rooms could be a lot better. Also - checkin and checkout are slow, and the chairs for the beach are advertised but often unavailable - and you must wait for messenger to get it for you although 2-3 employees in the reception are free and could help. Need better management and optimization.

Lots of ants in the room. Bed not so comfortable. Breakfast was packed, not enough “pegadores” to catch bread. Overall a feeling that hotel is crowded and under staffed. The rush for chairs and “barracas” in the morning left me empty handed every day.

The hotel was in a good location (close to leme beach). We paid extra for a room with a sea view and what we got was a small gap between 2 buildings in front so not worth the extra cost. The staff were somewhat helpful but it felt like they were disorganised and not hugely helpful with booking excursions. Breakfast buffet was poor. There was a very limited amount of hot food and was the same hot food every day. Only one type of eggs. A big selection of cakes but no continental pastries. Only 3 options of cereals and there didn’t appear to be any dairy free alternatives. When asked if we could refund the remaining days of breakfast as we were sick of scrambled egg and soupy sausage, the staff said it would be too complicated and did not seem interested in our feedback on what was lacking or how it could be improved. Housecleaning was below average. On 2 separate occasions the bedding that had been put on fresh was damp and there were tears to the duvet cover. On a separate day, there was blood droplets on the underside of the duvet so we hadn’t noticed until we turned the bed down to go to sleep. I called housekeeping and it took them a while to change the bedding. The maid turned up and spent 20 mins changing the bedding whilst intermittently texting and calling people on her phone.

Nice, new, clean hotel thats close to Copacabana. Nice rooftop deck and pool with a bar. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. However, I dont think they were quite equipped for the crowds at Carnaval so the breakfast buffet was a little disappointing...they had some people eat in a conference area with less selections. All in all, a decent value and I'd recommend to others.

The room was very comfortable in general. Breakfast was excellent, dinner at the restaurant was ok but the dishes were quite small. The only drawback was that the Internet connection was quite poor at times. Beautiful view from the terrace!

Property was nice except for a few needed suggestions. We could not charge our laptop because the plugs was not standard plug sockets for usage for our laptop,etc. We are from America and needed our gadgets and be able to charge them at the hotel.

Hotel room: Average. Pillows need replacing. Bed nice size, and firm. Shower: Was very hot and difficult to adjust to a set temperature. Always hot even on cold (dependent of time of day). Room cleaners: Keen to get in and clean (some only about between 10-12) View from room: Poor (A street back from beach, residential area, with lots of dogs, few barks, lots of dog poo in front and to the sides of hotel, due to being a residential with lots of dogs). View from top floor / pool area - lovely. Restaurant: Same foods / staples available daily (bread, cereal, juice, fruit..). At start of stay walked in sat down, end of stay near busy season 5-10 minute wait to get a table. Limited seating available.

This hotel was beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. The staff were all kind and helpful and made it easy to learn the city of Rio. Perfect location and very safe! I would definitely stsy here again!.. perfect for families.

Good choice
It was good, hotel was clean and comfortable. Walls are a bit thin though so could hear people above us. Breakfast was good and had a large selection
