There are 2 bedrooms, queen size bed in the lake-facing one and one queen and one twin bed in the other. From the bedroom and living room there are big sliding doors onto a large deck with amazing views of the lake with a large table, chairs, and lounge chairs, there is another 3 tiered deck enow with a fire-it, grill ad lounge chairs. Two docks for swimming into the lake and a gazebo to enjoy the beauty of the Landscape. There are solar panels on the roof. The house has 2 bathroom, one full and one half, there is a hairdryer, a washer and dryer in the basement. There is excellent WiFi and a smart tv. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops. Coffee drip, keurig, nespresso machine, milk foamer, toaster, water keddle are on the counter top. There is an iron and board (basement)in one of the large closets and hangers and plenty of storage space for clothes. Heating and cooling is regulated with a thermostat and there are separate heaters in each room, central air conditioning. The land around the house is beautiful with may areas to sit, benches and hammock , about an acre right on the water. A tandem kayak, paddle board and kayak is available for water excursions and there is a row boat that accommodates 4\. I have life jackets, 2 adult, 2 children. The beautiful cedar dock gets you into the water, best entrance is the dock behind the gazebo to the right of the property, or just hanging out at the water, there is a daybed right next to the dock, just below the houses at the water. Parking is in front of the house and there is additional parking on a lot next to the house. The magic is in the light and the restful energy of the house. We do our best to use eco friendly soap and cleaning supplies, it is important to us that the house is clean energetically and dirt wise. We care about sustainability and respect of nature and do not want to harm especially children or pets, that is why we do not use any kind of poison inside or outside the house, for that reason please forgive the possibility of a bug or an ant. thank you. The house is very well located between New Paltz and Kingston, there are many amazing restaurants and stores, Woodstock and Rhinbeck are only a few minutes more or you can enjoy sitting at the water and chill. I decorated the house with my art. Fabric sculptures and paintings. The house is perfect for 2 and may be 5\. The living room is small. The kitchen table pulls out. the water quality of the lakes and rivers upstate can vary this is mostly a problem in the drought season end of July, when there is limited water flow. I test the water regularly during this time and in general to make sure its safe, I swim in it, we all do ! The water feels soft and fresh. I went solo, with my dog, and this was exactly the restful retreat I was looking for. The inside space is thoughtfully designed, with awesome art throughout, and the glass doors facing the lake are perfection. The creature comforts of the excellent heating systems, laundry, full kitchen, great wifi, etc were all appreciated. In the kitchen, there was even some honey from the owner’s beehives and dried herbs from their garden. Outdoors, there are several really special places to sit and experience the surroundings—my favorite was the lounge settee tucked into a little nook amongst the foliage, right next to the water’s edge. Kitchen was well-stocked with amenities. Interior had a very cool, zen 'vibe' and owner made great use of color and fabric lighting. Owner was very responsive to our questions and had great ideas for places to eat (town is about a 7 mi drive) and hike (drive to many trails and all were lovely). Our only issues - and they were minor - were that the grass throughout the property was high and usually wet, and our 'sponge dog' was usually soaked. It is a little tricky to get out of the driveway onto the road, as there is a blind curve on the road and the few passing cars don't necessarily see the drive. There is only 1 tv (located in 1 of the bedrooms), and it was only available for streaming (the listing says this, but we missed it; it was a challenge for my husband who wanted to watch sports; this isn't the place to do that but there are plenty of sports bars in town). Our host was great making sure we had everything we could need. Clean and comfortable with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pan as well as stock of essentials. It’s filled with her beautiful art, thoughtful decor, and personal touches like a well-stocked kitchen, her own honey, and a welcome gift of pasta and sauce. Natural light, cozy furniture, and stunning views of the reservoir made it so easy to relax. The dock, gazebo, and outdoor seating areas were perfect for quiet moments by the water (bug spray provided!). A wide array of kayaks, canoes, and paddle board are offered for exploration. Two docks were useful for fishing and wading in the lake. My two kids switched activities all day every day, non-stop, and neither one even asked for an electronic. My 10 year old said that it was one of the best days of his life with all the good fishing! The kitchen was fully equipped, the grill was in great condition, and the fire pit was enjoyable. It’s about a 10 minute drive to New Paltz. It was a perfect place to stay for my daughter’s graduation weekend. We made use of bbq, fire pit, kayaks, canoes & long board. The place was clean, cozy and comfortable and a close drive to New Paltz. The house is right on the lake with a nice view. Gisela was very proactive and responsive to anything we needed!
