The famous Norman castle dominates the skyline, with circular walks around the banks of the River Swale passing by The Station, a bustling centre hosting art and craft exhibitions, a three-screen cinema, café, delicatessen, a microbrewery and an ice cream parlour. On the same site, there is an indoor swimming pool and health club. Richmond sits at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making this the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts to explore the sights of Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales. There are plenty of riverside and woodland walks nearby, which continue into the stunning countryside beyond. It is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists alike, with a range of routes and trails nearby for all abilities.
