Our cabin is nestled on the east side of Big Lake Chetac offering beautiful views of the lake and fantastic sunsets. Big Lake Chetac is known for its fishing and water recreation. Enjoy coffee in the morning in the screen porch and a bonfire at night in the firepit next to the lake. The cabin has two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, living room with pull-out couch and gas-burning fireplace, family room with wood-burning stove, a/c, furnace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We have DirecTV, a DVD player with a good collection of movies, as well as books and games for your entertainment at those times when you can drag yourself away from the water. We now have wifi!! You will find a charcoal and gas grill outside. We have a dock for your boat or for great fishing. We are located 25 miles north of Rice Lake and 20 minutes south of the famous tourist destination of Hayward, WI. There are ATV trails just down the road and two nearby boat landings. This is a cozy cabin for a family or couple getaway. We also have a pontoon with a 40 hp engine for rent. The location was very quiet and very peaceful and the Eagles were absolutely gorgeous. When we were not touring the lake on the Pontoon, we spent most of our time relaxing on the very peaceful screened porch or enjoying a nice bonfire. My only wish is that the cabin had Wifi. Used the pontoon that was available but fishing was not very good while there. Downfall for us was the availability of any wi-fi or phone use which we needed, and the size of bathroom/shower is very small. Loved the screened in porch and sunsets were phenomenal. We have stayed at many rental properties over the years, and this was one of the only ones I didn’t feel like we needed to clean the kitchen/dishes and disinfect surfaces before settling in. Our two small dogs loved the place and watching the chipmunks. We rented the pontoon and enjoyed cruising, fishing, and channeling to Birch Lake. Didn’t have much luck fishing. Everything was as described on the listing so we knew it wasn’t going to be fancy. I was glad we read reviews to prepare us for the small shower. Renting the pontoon made the vacation, we were on it every day. Easy drive to Hayward shopping and sites, lots of bar/grills in the area. The screened porch was a lifesaver, the mosquito conditions were prime with the wet summer. Owners right next door, were available but not intrusive at all. The cabin is roomy enough and nicely equipped. The screened in porch is a fabulous place to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The deck is a nice size and is the perfect spot to watch the sun set. A fish cleaning station with running water is awesome for cleaning the beautiful pan fish caught on Big Lake Chetac.
