The view is gorgeous ... And it didn't hurt that the weather was perfect for late September; sunny with lows 48-52 and highs around 70 or so! For fall visitors, be aware that many local businesses close after Labor Day but we still found a couple of good restaurant/bars in Conover and many more choices in Eagle River. We did daily hikes, but had to drive 20-30 minutes to get to the best hiking trails. We also enjoyed just sitting by the lake and reading and watching the fishermen drift. It was a very peaceful and quiet place for a fall retreat. ##### Ronald W.
