A mixed bag fr this hotel, which we stayed in for three nights in March 2023. The the good stuff; the hotel must be one of the best placed hotels in all of Reykjavik. Perfect for getting to shops and bars and the underground parking is most welcome too. Downsides are the value; quite expensive, especially for the breakfast - there's signs asking you not to take away any food which is poor. I think you should be able to take away even some fruit for the ahead. Overall, the rooms are basic but very clean and the staff are helpful.

I loved EVERYTHING about the Skuggi, this hotel is amazing. The hotel is beautiful and located 3 blocks from the water (Seaview of Reykjavík) to take awesome photos, 5 minute walk to the sun voyager, 1 block to Laugavegur (shops, bars, cafes & restaurants) 7 blocks to the Hallgrímskirkja, & my favorite 6 blocks to Braud & Co (best cinnamon rolls ever). The staff was AMAZING! From the time we checked in every staff member went above and beyond to make certain that we had everything that we needed at all times. The staff at Skuggi always smiled and greeted me. everyone that works there is so nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms were decorated very well, I felt like I was staying at IKEA. The bed was super comfortable, the shower has a rainfall shower head and a handheld sprayer which was awesome. The room was good sized, it wasn’t huge. We didn’t need a ton of room we were only in our room to shower, sleep & have some alone time. The weather was beautiful for most of our trip so we wanted to be outside or driving to our destinations. The breakfast buffet from 7-10 is absolutely wonderful eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, oatmeal, fish, assortment of pastries, meats & different kinds of cheese, with real dishes and real silverware. The staff is constantly filling it up and cleaning up after guests go through the line. I suggest you get there early or 9:30 it gets busy and stays busy. The garage parking was awesome! Thank You I will stay here again! I miss you Skuggi already. TY

Excellent and outstanding. I extensively travel and this is the best hotel. The front desk especially Mr. Anton and everyone is professional and extremely helpful, Professional hard working friendly staff. Above and beyond!!!
