A quaint hotel in the perfect location for your visit to Reykjavik. It's especially easy to find for first-timers, because it's right across the street from Hallgrimskirkja church.

The hotel is a bit dated, no elevator, the bed is older, hot water has strong smell of sulfur (which we were informed by tour guides that apparently some newer hotels have filtered hot water that filters out of sulfur). But the staff were amazing! They let us check in early since our flight arrived super early, that cleaned the room daily and replaced towels (we found some hair on the bed that didn’t belong to us, but it was not a very big deal for us), free coffee/beverage and decent breakfast at a surcharge. The location is super amazing that we are basically in the heart of the city, though it can get lousy since we are right on front of the church so you will hear the church bell constantly.

Tiny room on upper floor. Cozy and clean. Note that there is not an elevator, and shower is very close to toilet, shower has strong sulfur smell (like most hot water in Iceland), but newly updated room and a good value.

This is a family owned hotel and the staff are AMAZING. They really make you feel welcomed and at home. The view of the church is absolutely stunning. For the Americans, the rooms are small. The shower is very small. Know that before going. I’m not saying that as a con, just something to be aware of. When I go back to Iceland, I plan on staying here again.

It was in a great location to the city and also to the bus station when you want to go on tours. The front desk staff took their time answering questions and had no problem spending alot of time with each person with any questions about where to go and what to do. The breakfast was average and probably convenient if you are leaving for an early morning tour but if you have time to stop and have breakfast somewhere else I would advise that. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was super small and so was the bathroom but the view was amazing. All in all, great value.

It was an amazing experience! They helped me organizing my tours, fast check in/out, the single room was great for a carry on, medium backpack and 1 large baggage, if you have more I don’t recommend it just because is small but is PERFECT for 1 person, you don’t need more. All the staff was really helpful and friendly, always with a smile, but Maria rocks! I would definitely recommend it. Perfectly located, in front of the church, you have the stop #8 just 25 steps away and they pick you up there for every tour. The restaurant is so charming, they give you hot chocolate and coffee for free whenever you want. The breakfast is great as well!!

Location is excellent, within walking distance to everywhere and right opposite the cathedral. Breakfast was decent. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, except the owner who is rude and loud. I think she must have trained at the Basil Fawlty school for hospitality. Rooms are the size of a wardrobe and bathroom the size of a broom cupboard.

Okay for overnight stay
We got what we paid for. Very basic beds and bathroom. Windows opened on sidewalk of main street so noisy with windows open and hot with windows closed. Parking is behind church if you can find a open spot.
