Don’t waist your time and money!!! I have stayed here before but all has changed, no one is ever at the front desk, it took 2 hours of waiting in the lobby to check in. No employees were there at the property!!! A lot advertised is not there anymore, like breakfast and lobby hours!! The room was not what I purchased, it was tiny for 3 adults!! The worst hotel experience in all my travels around the world. Lots of better options out there!!

Booked two nights, ended up adding a third last minute due to weather. They told me it would be the same rate as other nights. When it came time to pay, & I asked why it was $17 more, the woman gave me attitude & told me to, ‘just pay it!’. She was quite rude & said I should have paid it right when we checked in, however, they were not there when we checked in - they left our room unlocked for us & we didn’t see any staff, for three days, until it was time to check out!

Before we left Canada the hotel asked us at what time our flight arrived and our expected arrival time to the hotel. We told them our flight landed at 0600 and that we would be at the hotel at 0800. We arrived at 0800 from airport and rang buzzer. No staff. Another guest let us into lobby. Got email from hotel that someone would arrive after 0900. Had to wait in cold dark lobby until someone arrived. She berated us for arriving before 3pm check in but allowed us to store our luggage until we could check in. After wandering the cold rainy and windy streets for 3 hours she let us check in. Do Not book this hotel unless your flight arrives in the afternoon. There is no coffee or any type of amenities in here. At best a 1 star property.

Not worth the money and NOT wheelchair accessible
The room was listed as wheelchair accessible, it was not. We had to position a heavy metal ramp everytime we wanted to enter or exit the building. The room was supposed to sleep 6, but there were no linens for the pull out couch. The floor was heavily damaged and gave the room a very di get feeling.

Not good for overnight stay
Nice room for 2 just to rest for few hrs and shower. However, not good for overnight stay due to bad location. We couldn’t sleep as street was busy all night. Constantly disturbed by road noise. Close by 24 x 7 store. Also road construction noise .Keep this place busy don’t recommend for overnight stay.

Location was great for shopping & restaurant and is near free parking zones. Room was very small and mostly clean. However, the shower was integrated into the very small bathroom with only a shower head and curtain to separate from the rest of the bathroom. After every shower the bathroom floor was very wet. A squeegee was provided to mop the floor but it was covered in mold. No bath mats or wash cloths were provided. No soap was provided; only hand soap at the sink. There were no shelf’s for storage of toiletries in the bathroom. The front desk staff was non existent. We had to have a maid help us get a cab.

Great hotel in a great location.
Hotel is in a very central part of town. The owners were very helpful and assisted me with getting a taxi and also reserving a bus to the airport. The only negative is the bed was not very comfortable.

The staff is very nice and helpful. If the staff is not around it is easy to call them from the front door. The hotel is in a prime location. Issue here is the hotel is dirty. The bathrooms need a real proper cleaning, especially the floor and walls. The windows of the room need a wash and dust needs to be cleaned as well. The hotel is old but if it were cleaned well this could be a very comfortable stay for families, otherwise it is not suitable for families or young couples, just for university kids who care less about hygiene. As other people commented, it does get loud at night. I am a light sleeper, but we did so much during the day that I was able to sleep without issues. Despite the loud people walking by, shouting and what not.

You get what you pay for. Stayed in the Twin Bed room (308) and it’s a small one-person room with a small bathroom. Sleeping area was fine but found that the shower area could be cleaner. Rest of bathroom was fine though. It’s not like a traditional hotel with someone at the front desk or concierge 24/7 so don’t expect that. Pros: - Great location. 10-15 minutes to the church, 15-20 to the bus terminal, located on the main street with restaurants all around. - Quiet - Relatively inexpensive Cons: - Room is small (twin bed room) - No one at front desk at all hours - Shower could be cleaner

Where's the manager!
There was no manager on site the entire time of our stay. We did tours during the day but were back by 7:00pm and 8:00 pm. We left at 8:00 am and 8:30 am. each morning. Finally on the last night a maid knocked on my door to get payment! I went to the hotel across the street to get help booking an airport bus and ask general questions. The shopkeeper downstairs opened the building to let me in on my arrival. He was not connected with the hotel. The room was adequate. No towel racks in the bathroom. Throw them on the floor! No room phone. No refrigerator or microwave. Bed and bathroom...the basics.

Horrible hotel description list property false: no blackout curtains, mold window & bathroom, wifi going out every few minutes, no breakfast to purchase, room so hot due to curtains sun direct, no place store luggage, soap water downed placed in bottle with label,no laundry facility, bed on floor & only bedding for 1 2 beds. The location of the property was nice. It is on the quieter end of laugavegur. The hotel is more like a hybrid between a hotel and a hostel. The hotel staff are rarely present and if you show up before 11am, you won’t have access to the hotel. The room I stayed in was in desperate need of repair. The staff were friendly when present

Great location.
The room was nice. I'm not a fan of the wet bathroom. They need to fix this because it was rotting the base board area. The wifi was very bad. It seems they had one router and a bunch of extenders so it went out numerous times and was extremely slow. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. We loved the location of the hotel. It was close to the bus hub and drop off points for all excursions. The street the hotel is located on is the main one with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Terrible budget spot
A week stay and i left after the second night. Wifi was terrible. No receptionist at all. Budget means affordable and in 2021, wifi is must even in a budget hotel. I recommend a place owned by Icelandic people who know the area and understand customer needs.

I liked that the hotel was close to the main part of downtown and a bus station. I didn’t like the poor internet and the hotel did not provide coffee/tea, stirring sticks, and any cream and sugar for the coffee cups and hot water heater they provided.. found that odd.

Nothing fancy, but exactly what you need.
It's nothing fancy. There's not a world-class restaurant in the lobby, and nobody is going to leave a mint on your pillow as part of nightly turn-down service. But really, who cares? The location is amazing, just feet away from the transportation hub of the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a bit spartan. And the staff was amazing. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly, and helpful and accommodating of an extremely-tired traveler who just wanted a place to rest. Highly recommend.

No one at the front desk, EVER. Room was dirty, bathroom was horrible. Someone else’s hair on the shower wall, used shampoo in shower. Booked room with breakfast included, NO breakfast on ANY Fay there. Remove them from your site.
