Peaceful stay in a gorgeous area
We were lucky Fussen had no vacancies so we ventured out to Pfrontener Hof and were happy we did. The next-door ski lift up the mountain made for a great day of hiking and views. Dinner options in Pfrontener were also good and easy to get a table. If you are looking for a quiet place with great views away from crowds, I'd suggest you try here.

Stop over for the night before heading on to Neuschwanstein. A beautiful area that we will return to to hike more.

The owners really care and know their business. Make sure you eat at their restaurant. The food and views were fantastic! The breakfast was the best we have had in Europe! Fresh pretzels!! The staff saved us loads of time and money by recommending the best way to see the castles and nearby activities. Ask them questions and learn from the pros! Thank you for a wonderful welcome to Germany!!! We hope to come again soon!

Ideal spot for a tour of the area
The staff were friendly, helpful and informative and the room and bed were comfortable. There was a good breakfast choice and there was free parking and a good internet connection. We particularly liked the bus service from right outside the front door which took us into Fussen without having to fuss with parking (pun intended). Plenty to see and do in the area.

Peaceful and friendly place
My personal favorite hotel in our trip. The surroundings were amazing. You can do a nice hike with trails that are just outside the hotel. The gentleman managing the restaurant is very friendly. We would come back.

Located in a truly beautiful setting!
We loved the location of this hotel which was in a beautiful mountainous area. It was absolutely beautiful. The hosts were very helpful and even arranged for us to get some laundry done using the hotel' s laundry equipment. They could not have been more helpful.

incredible view of bavarian alps
modest room with an incredible view. front of the house staff friendly and helpful. housekeeping came into room and discarded my personal property (mistaking papers and receipts on night table for trash, i guess) and moved our personal stuff, but didn't actually clean. They rehung dirty towells off the floor and folded duvet, but didn't sweep floor or replace towells. i would stay here again, but would request a do not disturb sign to keep housekeeping out.

Pfrontener Hof - Very nice and low cost hotel !!!
Stayed two nights and the host and staff were very nice. Rode the gondola lift to the top of the mountain and ate and drank at the restaurant. Very friendly staff at the restaurant ! December 2016

Great Bayern country property. The owner/staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were VERY clean and the balcony was a plus. Parking was directly in front. Hotel on edge of Alps in Germany
Pfrontener Hof is right next to a chairlift. Our room had a balcony looking out at the mountainside. The hotel shows its age, but the price seemed reasonable. The owner is on-site and very friendly. Dinner was good and nicely presented. No lift so luggage must be carried up the stairs. Owner is knowledgeable about the area and was able to suggest a sightseeing tour, which we enjoyed. We were given a transport card each that we could have used for free bus travel or train travel (train staton is right across the street from the hotel).

Gem hotel in the Bavarian mountains
Beautiful little hotel in a scenic location surrounded by mountains. A small train station is across the road. Breitenberg cable car is next door to take you up the mountain or you can hike up. Easy drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. Staff was wonderful and so helpful. They even did our laundry when we could not locate a laundromat. Breakfast buffet was amazing and their restaurant was very good. It was our favorite hotel in Germany and gets my highest recommendation.

Exactly what I had hoped for in Bavaria!
This place is terrific! Super friendly and welcoming hosts, also very informative about what to do, where to go, shop etc. The room was exactly as I expected, rustic with a great view of the Alps to enjoy from your own balcony. Right next door to a ski hill. About 15 mins away from the castles in Schwaganau. Breakfast was included and excellent, lovely selection of meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh baked hot buns, yogurts, fruit, cereals etc. And the best part for me; pots of fresh brewed hot coffee brought right to the table. I hope to return one day in the near future!

Great for the price. Very limited breakfast. great view. The staff are extremely friendly. Only problem is I asked for two twin beds. Asked three times. Got a single queen and was too tired to move it all again. Still the staff made it worthwhile
