The rooms are spacious, well-equipped with large, renovated bathroom and separate toilet. Towels were exchanged daily and the room was spotless. In summer, the lack of AC may be a problem. Some parts of the hotel need some TLC, but the room we stayed in had an updated and clean bathroom and the room was a good size. The bed was a little too soft for me, but not so bad to make me not want to stay again when we go back to Regensburg. Breakfast was good and typical for European mid-range cost hotels. Cathedral (Dom) is nearby, my double room was beautiful, high ceilings, seating, large bed, TV with international channels, bathroom was modern, shower excellent same like the red pomegranate amenities, they smell so nice, loved the huge bed, the public areas are magnificent too, breakfast is wonderful, easy going and very tasty. When visiting Regensburg I personally recommend the Eurostars Park Hotel Maximilian wholeheartedly. Hopefully I will be staying again in the future too. Staff had been delightful and wonderful at the same time. Two things I want to mention on the not so positive side is the breakfast was bit limited (you could tell that the current world economic situation had its impact here as wel). And i would say the hotel must have been in it's prime luxury in the 90's. I am exiced for when it gets a refresh as it is such a landmark in Regensburg. The room was adequate. They were nice and had the 2 beds and a pack and play ready for us. The breakfast was good. Centrally located. The basilica St Emmeram was a short walk and the stone bridge was about 10 minutes from there. Thurns and taxis christmas market was super close too. The only thing I didn’t like was the area around the hotel. i felt a bit unsafe walking at night. Too many foreign men around the shopping area. The staff were really nice and the rooms were clean, with nice toiletries. The lobby is comfortable with a coffee machine and tea available. You can keep your bike in a room in the underground car park. Centrally located for the city centre. The park it's next to is a bit grim (not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you walk there at night). It lost a star for one reason - the WiFi. It was really unreliable and I had to rely on my data. First day their only restaurant was closed for a private event but we weren't told until we went there for a drink and meal after a 4km walk on a very warm day. Nothing else available on site even for a drink and no suggestions given so had to find something ourselves. Last morning had breakfast which was very average and cold. The hotel is a bit on the old side but it's recently been remodeled. We are returning guests as we stayed here back in 2011 and the property has gone through some major updates since then. We stayed during the winter taking in the Christmas markets. The location is perfect. It has easy underground parking and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived early on our check in day and the front desk person went out of her way to get us in our room early. The breakfast was great and the room was very clean and comfortable and spacious. I will say though that when we visited before it was the summer and very hot out. The rooms didn't (and I still think they don't) have any air conditioning and our room was very hot in the summer which made for an uncomfortable sleep a few nights. However, that didn't prevent us from returning. Would we stay here again? Most definitely yes! Hotel: The hotel itself was absolutely fine. Clean, modern and generally very pleasant. Check-in: The lady at the check-in was rude and seemed like she did not want to be there. She constantly interrupted me when I asked about the parking reservation that I had made, she went on about the breakfast that I didn’t reserve and was generally very unfriendly to deal with. She also told me I didn’t have a booking until she actually read my German ID card properly. This was not what I needed after such a long drive and certainly not what I would expect from front office staff at a four star hotel. Location very close to train station, but at the same time very quiet and close to pedestrian Old Town Altstadt. Rooms are Big / With High I think 4 meters Ceilings, which are not usual at ALL nowadays and only saw it at Italian Palazzo style hotels prior. Wood / Parquet style floors at rooms and not some carpet… which I can’t stand. Separate Shower and Bathroom rooms, which again not common. Dining room is once again old school charming and excellent breakfast. Staff very polite / good spirited and helpful. Internet speed is around 100 mbps, which is ok.
