Reedville was once known as the wealthiest town in the United States, due to its large income produced by the fishing industry. Fishing boat captains and factory owners, who made their fortunes from fishing, built homes along what is now Main Street. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Captains Cottage. The house is very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The coffee shop, restaurants, and the Fisherman’s Museum were within walking distance. The nearby towns of Heathsville, Kilmarnock, And Irvington or just a few minutes away. We wanted a relaxing vacation and that's exactly what we got. We had a couple of hiccups on the way, but Leah was so responsive and kind and made our stay so wonderful overall. She and her husband were great hosts. There was plenty of room for our family and each of our teenagers was able to carve out some private space for themselves. The house is delightfully decorated and very comfortable. The backyard with it's view of the water was so peaceful. It was also lovely to be able to walk to Fawn's Cafe in the morning for a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich. We had a great stay and highly recommend a stay here. ##### Kellie L.
