Good staff but not good condition
The hotel is not easy to find. There are no signs and the garage is not easy to find either and parking is very tight. Room keys are also troublesome.

Hotel has seen it's better days
I stayed at Bao Viagem Praia Hotel several time during the past several years but on this visit it was clear that the hotel has seen it's better days. shower is dirty, lamps hang from the wall mounts, 1-channel TV, WiFi in the Room is inconsistent and non-functional. If you want to use your computer you will need to go downstairs to the lobby. The elevator stopped working at 5:45 pm on March 30th requiring that I walk up 4 flights of stairs. The long and narrow hallway was so dark that I needed to use a flashlight to negotiate the hallway and while waiting for the elevators. The bar is very lightly stocked with only about 4 or 5 choices of liquor. The service proved by the staff was good and they were responsive and timely to my request for additional pillows and blanket. The front Sea facing room did provide a good view of the beach and Boa Viagem. The overall condition of the Hotel I felt was disappointing and that the 3-Star rating is a stretch.

Good location
The hotel is acceptable when you get a discounted rate. If you have to pay full price it is not worth it . It needs to be updated. At least items that are broken should be fixed, broken handles at cabinets do not make a good first impression

Do Not Stay In This Hotel
Why an old hotel has to be a BAD hotel?, I have stayed on old hotels and they were nice, some refurbished, and others updated, this hotel in RECIFE, is far from been considered a 3 stars, old and not maintained, dirty walls in the room, the room smell, as the air conditioning system too, they really do not care about the hotel, the elevators really remember the twilight zone, the one in a theme park, you do feel you are going fall down, the staff really not ready for help you with your needs, i do not recommend to anyone to stay, just choose another pay more but do not go in to this hotel.

We chose this hotel because it had a pool. The pool was shut and looked horrible (water colour). The safes in the hotel were on the whole useless, we tried three in three different rooms, all were unusable either because no locking mechanism or locked shut. The hotel however did eventually offer us the use of their safe after two fruitless hours of trying to solve the problem. Everything else was fine.

Wifi Access
The WIFI worked only near the bar area. Forget about it in most of the lobby or the outside terrace. Upstairs, in our room, there was never a signal. That means it was almost completely worthless. To check email, sales, etc. required that we work from the bar. But wait, there's more: This is an older hotel, not very well kept. The elevators were being worked on by Otis when we arrived. That continued for several hours during which the Service elevator (one of two available elevators) was working, not working, working not working, etc.) The guest elevator made horrible clunking sounds when starting and stopping. It did not engender confidence that it would not break down mid-use.

5th Floor Ocean Facing Room Excellent.
Hotel was very easy to access from the Airport. Staff at the counter was very helpful and most spoke english or found someone who did. Breakfast was excellent something for everyone served from 7-10. Very comfortable beds, AC if you needed it (I just left the windows open for the ocean breeze). Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Beach area in front is not good to swim during high tide but there is a beach area for sunning if you do not want to use the pool area at the hotel. At low tide it is safe and well used by the locals. The shark signs warn you about swimming beyond the reef and at high tide. The area that runs in front of the hotel includes a walking trail a bike trail and a refreshment stand about every two blocks that serves snacks to hard liquor but mainly beer. The Malecon seem to be very active after sun down and attracts all types of people. Down side when you purchase from the food counter in the lobby you need to sign for it to your room instead of paying cash then and there. The other optioni s going to the reception counter to pay and then return with the paid receipt.

Affordable in good area
This is a simple hotel, but has the advantage of being in a good area directly across from the ocean on Boa Viagem street. A major plus is free internet dial up speed service. There were a couple of employees that spoke some English which was a help to me. An employee was also able to help me get my internet connection to work on my netbook. The rooms are simple and small so I would highly recommend reserving a room with an ocean view in the front of the hotel.

Pelas fotos não dá para ter noção de quanto ruim é o hotel. Fiquei em um apartamento com vista para o mar. Muito alto, devido á uma vibração que vinha da parede sem parar! 4 noites seguidas, 24hrs, uma zoada infernal. Reclamei na recepção, mas a moça disse que nao tinha outro quarto livre. Eu não daria nem 1 estrela para o hotel! Nao vale o preço que se paga. Não recomendo de jeito nenhum!

Ich kenne dieses Hotel seit vielen Jahren (als es noch Boa Viajem Praia Hotel hieß) Die Lage direkt am Strand ist hervorragend und das Personal ist wie früher liebenswürdig , hilfsbereit, höflich und effizient. Ich habe mich gefühlt wie „nach Hause kommen“.

Hotel c excelente café da manhã
O melhor do hotel foi o atendimento desde da recepção, restaurante do café da manhã e o pessoal da limpeza. Café da manhã muito gostoso e qualidade. Os quartos são ok e precisam de mais circulação de ar para tirar o cheiro de fechado (o que me deu uma certa alergia). Estacionamento muito pequeno mas estacionei na rua sem problemas.
