NO ONE TOLD US
when er arrived we found that the City of Rapid City had closed this hotel down due to multiple code violations. we had made our reservations a couplr of months in advance. Imagine our reaction to drive up after a long days travel with tired grandchildren to find we had no place to stay. As there was some type of convention going on most hotels in the vincinty were full. If we had been notified we could have made other reservations. This hotel had been closed for over a month. A BOUGHT lesson is a lesson well learned. Always check your reservations a week or so before you go. NO one notified us!

When we entered the property, the side door was propped open with a rock since the door was out of order. When we got to our room, the door was open. We figured out that the door did not fully close when let go, it had to be pulled shut. These two items did not make us feel safe. The room itself was clean. The complementary breakfast was ok, no meat was served.

The rooms had a funny smell to them, and the phones were broken. No buttons were on them when I tried to call the front desk to ask a question the TV remote was broken so we couldn’t watch the news when we got back to our room which I guess that’s not a big deal we could look it up on our phones, but we just wanted to relax and watch a little TV when we got back from our day. One of the rooms had a very strong odor, and we tried everything we could to dissipated, and nothing was working. When checking in I tried telling the person I had three reservation numbers and instead she asked my name and two were under my name, and one was under my dad‘s name and she was rude when I she tried to tell me I had two rooms when I did have three booked together. Also, the breakfast was terrible. There was no flavor to it and the only thing we ate was maybe some toast before we left for the day.
