Whether you’re seeking adventure on the slopes or a quiet escape in nature, this charming hideaway provides comfort, privacy, and a stunning backdrop of Mt Ruapehu.  
  
Step outside to a lush, landscaped garden, where you can sip your morning coffee while taking in the crisp mountain air. With direct access to the public domain, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the surrounding greenery before returning to your private sanctuary. Inside, the open-plan space is warm and inviting, with a comfortable seating area and dining nook designed for relaxation.  
  
Whilst no kitchen is available for guest use, a small fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery, and drinkware are provided for your convenience.  
  
The well-appointed bedroom boasts an ensuite bathroom and a plush queen bed, offering a restful space to unwind after a day of exploration. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, while the separate entrance ensures complete privacy. For those travelling with friends or family, Maungatapu Studio 1 can be booked alongside the neighbouring unit, providing extra space while maintaining a sense of seclusion.  
  
With Ohakune just a short drive away, you’ll have easy access to local cafes, restaurants, and ski shops. Hit the slopes at Turoa or Whakapapa, cycle the Old Coach Road, or explore Tongariro National Park’s incredible hiking trails. Whether you’re here for adventure or relaxation, Maungatapu Studio 1 offers the perfect base for your getaway.  
Please note that there is a second unit on site "Maungatapu Studio 2" that can also be booked on the Bachcare website.Please note there is no kitchen available for guest use. However, we do provide a small fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery, and drinkware for your convenience.Please note that there is a security camera, placed in the outdoor area that will be operating for added security during your stay.As the property has unfenced access to the pond, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water. Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. One of our team members will contact you if this is required for your booking.
