The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't halted our lust for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with travel's new challenges:

• Before you lock in a flight, find out if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government and travel websites.
• You must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA employee.

• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for scanning.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through the screening checkpoint, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
